industry: telecommunications
Personal Background: With an extensive background and education in graphic design, animation, music, and video production and a passionate curiosity for exploring new media technologies for expressing his creative side, Gary currently works as a multimedia producer on a small creative team within a large telecommunications company outside Washington, D.C. in the United States where he is responsible for producing Flash animation for the company’s online presence.
Victoria Veligodsky: What challenges have you faced which made you search for this kind of software?
Gary Eckstein: As a multimedia producer creating flash animations for a major telecommunications company, I needed a fast way of viewing FLV files submitted by another large corporation before building them into the SWF files for our company’s new cutting-edge website. Eltima’s excellent Free SWF & FLV Player came to the rescue as the only real answer for doing so with full control of playback.
Dealing with an aggressive time schedule in producing something quite different from what had been done before meant learning new techniques in something that was also quite new to me. With an additional need to update online Flash tutorials and incorporate Flash techniques submitted by an outside advertising agency, I quickly realized that the ability to decompile their Flash work would be tremendously helpful in not only finding ways of integrating their work with ours, but my learning some of the excellent Flash animation techniques they were using.
SWF to FLA Converter for Mac is now the most important learning tool I have for keeping up with new trends in Flash animation.
Victoria Veligodsky: How did you find SWF & FLV Player and SWF to FLA Converter for Mac?
Gary Eckstein: After doing some research online, I discovered Eltima’s SWF & FLV Player for Mac which could playback FLV files as easily as SWF files so that it was easy to review both types of files in one easy to use player which also had some very useful controls.
Thrilled at what a great solution the SWF & FLV Player for Mac was in my fast-paced work environment, I was soon to discover Eltima’s SWF to FLA Converter for Mac as yet another very useful application that was more than worth for its cost.

Victoria Veligodsky: What other products did you try? Why did you choose our product among all others?
Gary Eckstein: Although Apple’s QuickTime Player is able to play FLV files, it can’t play SWF files at all. That Eltima’s nicely-designed SWF & FLV Player was created specifically to play both file formats made it the only answer for what I do in my job.
I had experimented with the Gordon decompiler demo, but found Eltima’s SWF to FLA Converter for Mac to not only to be incredibly faster but to contain much more control over the FLA that would be produced. Plus the SWF to FLA Con
