    Well, I just downloaded 1.0.0.260 and my WM6 T-Mobile Dash will not connect with my leopard 10.5.1 computer. The SyncMate dialogue box comes up but it simply won’t connect.

    I have upgraded to SyncMate 1.0.0.260 and using it on a Macbook on X 10.5.1. Tried to sync to my Samsung i600 (Blackjack) the first time i was prompted for a password though I do not have one for the phone. Keyed in “0000″ after which nothing happened. Since then have rebooted the phone as well as the mac with no luch – every time i plug the phone in SyncMate launches and that is it – nothing happens. I cannot see my phone. Tried looking into the applications in the phone and I notice Activesync is running. I do not see any SyncMate in the phone – I am not sure if the program should be installed in the phone as well.

    Appreciate any help.

    PS – have sent this message to the support group as well.

    Good job on the release guys – I’ve been watching the blog like a hawk!

    I first uninstalled syncmate, rebooted, then installed the new version and rebooted again. Not sure if this is necessary, but figured I’d better be safe than sorry.

    At first syncmate would continually crash. I deleted the preference files and it still continually crashed. Finally I deleted the files in Application Support and tried again and it worked.

    I ran a sync which seemed to complete normally. I am still not able to push calendar items from ical though. Items sync from my phone just fine, but not the other way around. This is the single bug that has been consistent through all the build I’ve tried and the one I’m looking most forward to being fixed.

    I also tried to grab device info but it just sat there for a while and eventually crashed. A subsequent syncing started eating up a lot of processor power but ultimately ended up just fine.

    In fact, after this 3rd or 4th sync, I can see calendar items were pushed through to my phone along with some weird blank appointments. I’ll have to test this a little bit more but it seems like its kinda working.

    Great work on the release, again – I love the software please keep it free!

  14. sam said,

    Syncing iCal both ways appears to be working fine now, everything started working great after I sync’d it a few times, restarted the software, etc.

  15. Scott said,

    I just downloaded 1.0.0.260 as well, and still no connection between my Verizon Motorola Q with WM5. I literally get no response from the software. We are all excited about this software, and the fact that is it free is fantastic, but maybe a little bit of FAQ’s and answers could alleviate a lot of problems that people are having. I have to believe that since you released the product, you know it works, so maybe we are all doing or not doing something that could fix the connection issue. Finally, if you post an email for support. Answer the emails or at least try to address them.

    Again, thanks for working on this product…

    I use following configuration:

    My mobile Device is a MDA-Compact 3, formerly known as HTC Artemis or HTC P3300 with the original T-Mobile-Germany ROM with Version 3.15.111.2 GER, Protokoll-Version 4.1.13.50 and ExtROM-Version 3.15.111.102

    I uninstalled the older Version, rebooted my PC and installed the Version from Syncamte .260 the a reboot followed.

    When i try to connect the Mobile-Device Syncmate starts and at the actions-log following is protocolled: “Getting the sync client…”
    So, nothing happens when i connect th device. At the device-settings i configured at “Einstellungen”, “Verbindungen”, “USB zu PC” the setting “Erweiterte Netzwerkfunktionen aktivieren” (this is activated at settings, connections, USB to PC).

    When i unmark this setting Syncmate won’t start ans at the actions-log nothing appears. If you nedd further information i can offer this via eMail.

    I didn’t get a response to my previous post, so I’m going to repost:-
    Hi, I have installed the latest build (1.0.0.260) but when I connect my HTC Tytn II with Leopard, the dialog pops up, Syncmate recognises that a WM6 device is present, but that’s about it. The sync button is greyed out and I can’t do anything.

    In the log I see the following:-
    BEGIN SYNCING…
    Successfully saved file.
    Installing diver on pocket…
    Cant connect to Pocket

    END SYNCING

    Is there something I am not doing? Do I have to configure USB or networking or anything like that? Some documentation would be nice, or an FAQ.

    This looks like it will be a brilliant app – when it works…

    Thanks for your efforts so far.

    Working on HTC Kaiser, ROM straight from HTC no updates whatsoever. MBP with Leopard 10.5.1.

    I had Syncmate (build 1.0.0.254, previous to this one) working for my HTC TyTN II. Just did a reboot of my phone after installation, cancelled the password request prompt and SyncMate was able to detect my Kaiser. I remembered that I did reboot my MBP 2x (to test if I needed to) and when SyncMate still couldn’t detect my phone, that’s when I restarted my Kaiser and it was detected! BTW, it did take me a while to figure that out but it was worth it!

    I haven’t installed the new build yet (currently logged in via Huawei USB Modem on a very slow GPRS signal) but am planning on downloading by tomorrow. Will make update by tomorrow if anything interesting happens with the upgrade.

    To everyone whose devices will not sync: I had this problem with my HTC Touch and was very frustrated at first. However, I looked into uninstalling PocketMac, which I had installed and was disappointed with.
    You must manually delete files (google: uninstall PocketMac) above and beyond what the uninstaller does.
    Reboot.
    I also reinstalled the 10.4.11 Combined Update from Apple’s website. (www.apple.com and search for “combined tiger”) This guarantees that USB functionality is returned to the standard state.
    Reboot again.
    Installed SyncMate and my problems disappeared.

    I hope this helps some of you out.

    Hi,
    1.0.0.260 is working better if compared with 0.254.

    But now I have problems with “strange” appointments that are during from 1945 till now… they are recurring so my calendar is plenty of duplicated “columns”.
    It’s very strange…. I don’t know how can I to “reset” the situation… I’m deleting them by hand. Seems that they are repeated-appointments; but I never used them in my iCal nor in my Windows Mobile 5.0 Eten M600+.
    I’m working with osx 10.5.1
    Also “entire-day” appointments should be checked… and (I’m italian) sometimes the “monday” appointment is copied on Sunday (the Sunday before that Monday).
    It’s difficult to stay in sync.
    I renamed my calendar from “mobile” to “Ivan”… could be this the problem?

    Surely a great piece of software, as soon as it works. Sadly, I have no idea what could be the problem. Others got it working on the first try without adjusting any settings, I don’t even get it working with tweaking around :(.

    @All
    Since we stated that the software is BETA this means it has issues to fix.
    I’ll state it one more time to highlight key points. SyncMate is a FREE software and it’s currently in BETA stage. So, this implies that we highly appreciate your cooperation but we do not guarantee that the application has no bugs or glitches. You can help us in developing better software by reporting issues here or by e-mail. Note, that paid software support has higher priority, so if you didn’t receive the answer you can check this blog for updates, for example.

    T-Mobile Dash, T-Mobile Shadow, Samsung SCH-i760, BlackBerry Pearl, Motorola Q, MDA Touch (aka HTC Touch), Samsung BlackJack (aka SGH-i607) have Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition. Current version of SyncMate doesn’t support this OS, but we are already working on this. The next SyncMate build will work with smartphones.

    @Bert Kassing
    Are you sure you have the latest build installed?.. If so, please, try to reinstall the application.

    Please, make sure that firewall(s) on your Mac and/or your mobile device (if any) do not block the connection.

    @ricardo
    SyncMate can’t install a driver on your mobile device.Try to reboot the device and connect to your Mac again. Then check firewall settings.

    Thanks for useful information! Please, indicate the manufacturer, model, and OS of your mobile device.

    Your mobile devices have Windows Mobile 2003, right? SyncMate doesn’t support this OS.

    @Rob C, Allen
    Click SyncMate icon in system tray on your mobile device and then choose “Exit”. Then restart the device and try to establish connection again.

    @Jochen
    The firewall is blocking SyncMate’s attempts to establish connection. Adjust firewall settings to permit the connection. If the problem still persists, send SyncMate log to support@eltima.com

    @foudordi
    Please, don’t post multiple comments. Try to reset the profile in SyncMate’s settings.

    Thanks for the update Helen, I’m sure I’m not the only one here who really appreciates this app, and really wants it to work, to the extent that we are prepared to put in some effort to help.

    In my case, the Leopard firewall is set to allow all incoming connections, which is the default. If you have (or if anyone else has) any suggestions for configuration changes which might make Syncmate see my HTC, I would be grateful to receive them.

I had to disconnect my phone to stop it. Re-connecting my phone will make SyncMate try to re-install the application again. I uninstalled it after a few re-boots didn’t work.

    After re-installation I’ve had SyncMate crashing on me the past couple of days. Won’t even start even when my phone was disconnected, it just crashed. Will be sending the crash log via support@eltima.com, let me know if I’m sending it to the right support channel. I uninstalled it and will be re-installing within the day. Couldn’t completely test it out due to the day job, but now on vacation so let’s see.

    ok. SyncMate is working for me! Whoopeee!

    Uninstalled SyncMate and searched most of the folders for preferences (like application support, library, etc…) and deleted all traces of my previous installation of SyncMate.

    Thinking back, I think the issue I had with installation may be due to either of 2 things:
    1) I dragged 2 cab files for installation during my prior install.
    2) I canceled the install on my phone. (so maybe SyncMate may have thought that the install didn’t succeed that’s why it was trying to re-install the application again.

    Intall process I did (after the uninstall and cleanup) was simple:
    1) followed instructions from SyncMate’s intallation.
    2) rebooted my MBP.

    Things I noticed:
    1) app install works!
    2) the apps list won’t refresh after the successful install. -> worked only after I pressed disconnect and reconnected my phone.
    3) once my phone went to “sleep” SyncMate disconnected the connection. I pressed the power button and still no recognition. removed USB, and still no dice. -> worked when I stopped the SyncMate service at the WM taskbar (if you call it that).
    4) SyncMate files all my contacts as mobile contacts. Just curious if there are plans in creating Addressbook Groups WM6 Categories. (Synch Up)

    That’s it for now! Thanks SyncMate Team!

    Do you have a firewall on your mobile device?

    @Tofi
    SyncMate works with Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6. It doesn’t support either Windows Mobile 2003 SE, or Windows Mobile 2003, or Pocket PC 2002, or Pocket PC 2000.

    @netgui
    Samsung SGH-i600 is a smartphone. Current version of SyncMate doesn’t support this OS, but we are already working on this. The next SyncMate build will work with smartphones. Stay tuned and have a nice Christmas!

    @maximus
    I’m pleased to know SyncMate works well for you now. And I’m also pleased to inform you that you are welcome to choose any of our products and get a free license as a gift from Eltima Software. :) Please, contact me personally at helen.white@eltima.com

    Thanks for reporting, we will fix it as soon as possible. Nice Christmas to you, too.

    Please, wait for the next build and try again.

    @Roco Vargas
    Yes, we are planning to add support for Symbian OS. Just wait a little bit :)

    Helen, there is no firewall on WM6 that I know of, and can’t find mention of it on the web. I checked because I don’t recall reading anything about it.

    The OS X firewall is set to allow all incoming connections. I have reinstalled and rebooted SyncMate, and the MBP, and reset the HTC.
    Still nothing. I don’t understand why maximus seems to have it working with similar harware and software. Perhaps I have applications installed which are conflicting.

  64. Jim Allen said,

    Success! After reinstallation of SyncMate, despite the fact that the firewall was set to allow all incoming connections, I added explicitly added Syncmate to the list of applications to allow connections. I then reset my HTC, and it’s all good now!

    Excellent, thanks! Another nice thing is that is works with Spanning Sync as well to resolve conflict, brilliant!

    SOLUTION FOUND TO GREYED OUT DISCONNECT AND DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED.

    I am finally (after two weeks) able to connect/sync my Sprint HTC Touch (running windows mobile 6) to my macbook pro. The solution was turn off the Mac firewall. Afterwards the syncmate icon appeared on my today screen(on the HTC Touch) and I was able to sync.

    Try this, uninstall SyncMate and all the associated files, use spotlight to look for everything with “Estima” in the filename. Reinstall, reboot, and soft reset your HTC. Note, you MUST reset, not just a matter of switching the device off. Then plug in and you should be working.

    If it fails, please post.

    You need to delete this folder first before reinstalling:-
    /Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/SyncMate. It contains a fie called Eltima.SyncMate.xml which spotlight should have found.
    And you MUST do a soft reset on your HTC. You can’t just turn it off.

    @Florian
    You need to post the details of what you have done, and what error messages you are seeing before anyone can help. The bluetooth thing isn’t related, but SyncMate is due to support in in future – apparently.

    I performed the automated upgrade to get to .299 which worked but I still could not sync my HTC Wizard. After reading these postings I did a complete uninstall using AppCleaner and Spotlight to remove all traces. I downloaded the .299 package from the website and installed. All of this appeared to work as expected however Syncmate Icon is now a default application icon and will not launch.

    I tried uninstalling using the script and other means and reinstalling as well as running it twice which did an ‘upgrade’ but I still don’t get an icon nor will the program launch.

    Hi,

    I had installed SyncMate v1.0.0.299 (The last one)
    I have a Mac Mini with Tiger (newly updated)
    I (after times) managed to synchronize the SPV (I had to unlocked applications but however now it works)

    It became to work fine (my SPV did not be detected) after having delete the content of …/librarie/SyncMate

    My comments:
    1 – Bookmark:
    I do not use this feature on this mobile and because I’m using firefox as browser.
    2 – Contacts:
    Great it works as expected
    3 – Folders:
    I do not yet have tested it (no comment)
    4 – iCal:
    Humm … the conflicts are all put on current date !? … and no warnings are displayed saying that some events are in conflict or corrupted … but it works !! Yes after reflection I can understand that the event that can not be placed correctly are all stored in current day … Isn’t it possible to display a warning and to ask (for each event in conflict) what to do ??
    5 – iPhoto:
    Humm May be I did some thing wrong … but when I go on pictures downloaded from device the images (jpeg in my case) are corrupted … and not viewable !!
    -> Does not work (for me)
    6 – iTunes:
    I did not tested yet … not enough memory on this device
    7 – notes:
    I did not tested yet … there is no note application on my SPV C600 ???
    8 – Time:
    Wait … I’ll go and see if time changed …YES … it works
    9 – Applications list:
    The list seams to be OK … I did not yet test to install new app.
    10 – Devise Info:
    Great … wahoow … interesting ! It will be great to be able to change alarm …
    11 – SMS Manager:
    This plugin is really great … I didn’t know that I had still all my sent items and all my trashed SMS … (don’t laugh please !!)
    12 – Actions log:
    Good … it will be nice to be able to clean it …

    Now lets talk about the HTC P3600 …
    SyncMate does not detect my USB device … Is it because it is not a supported hardware ???
    I suppose that (as my SPV is detected but not my HTC) it is du to the device ???

    I will be pleased to have some help, ideas concerning the USB link between the HTC Trinity P3600 and SyncMate.

    Is there some body that manage to link it’s HTC P3600 (or S300+ by SFR or M700 by Orange) to a Mac ?

    Sorry for my bad english … I will be happy to test future releases.

    Gab

  97. My T-Mobile Dash (in the US) shows signs of connection (the “connect” goes live for the first time) with the newest version but when I click on it nothing happens. The USB to PC setting is activated on the phone.
