    Still no luck with my HTC S710 and Mac OS X 10.5.1. The action log says:

    BackService version: 0.3.1d4
    USB driver version: 0.2.3b2
    Successfully saved file.
    Driver found. Starting…
    Cant connect to Pocket

    Anything I can try to make it connect? A previous version of SyncMate did connect, but kept asking for a password.

    @Daan
    Are you sure you use build 1.0.0.299?
    Please, redownload and reinstall the application.

  3. Jesse MC said,

    I’m trying to upgrade to .299 and I’m having issues. I sent in an email to the support site as well, but after I uninstalled and installed the new version, the app won’t run. I just see an icon with an “A” vs the normal syncmate icon. I’ve tried unistalling, using spotlight to delete all references, reinstalling 10.4.11 mac update, and none of these has brought the app to work.

    Anyway, I’m excited to test the smartphone compatibility, and hopefully all these comments are helping you guys make an awesome product! Keep it up!

    Hello Eltima-Team,

    on my Samsung SGH-I600 with WM6 i get the following error Message on my phone, when the SyncMate driver is loaded:
    ‘Error: Access Denied. Please switch security configuration on Your device into APPLICATION UNLOCKED mode.’
    Didn’t you sign your application?
    This would be the first application on my device which needs to unlock the phone…

    Dear,
    I posted some comments in the previous posts regarding .299.
    I was using successfully .260… I upgraded it to .299 and also reinstalled the .299 after an uninstall of .260 (3 days ago).
    Problems regards:
    - with upgrade: timeout in Sync Session –> so no sync at all
    - with reinstall: unable to execute the binary (nbi file missing)
    More details on previous comments.
    Thanks
    Ivan

    To solve the problem regarding the non-execution of SyncMate.app you should give the correct permission (uid:gid) to the /Applications/SyncMate.app

    for example

    chown -R username:admin SyncMate.app

    From that point SyncMate is running well (also with the correct icon).

    The default ownership is 502:admin (but I have no gid==502 on my notebook!!)

    Still no luck with the “timeout”.

  7. I downloaded SyncMate (this version and the previous),istalled it and tried to run it on both my MacPro with 10.4.11 and on my MacBook with Leopard (10.5.1). But I can’t even get it to start. My mobile (Qtek 9100 a.k.a HTC Wizard) running WM5 detects that it has been connected to a sync-able device. But when starting Syncmate, it just flicks once on screen and disappears. Nothing more.

    I first thought I did something wrong so I reinstalled the package a few times. No change. Then I thought that you weren’t supposed to run the application, just find a plugin in iCal or something. But, not that either…

    What am I doing wrong? (help).

  8. Claudio said,

    I have the same issue as Jesse MC, “I uninstalled and installed the new version, the app won’t run. I just see an icon with an “A” vs the normal syncmate icon.” It’s like the new build does not fully installs.

    Also, since this build is supposed to be Smartphone compatible, will it support the Motorola Q9H?

  9. Lorrimer said,

    PPC 6700 running WM5, MacBook running 10.4.11; SyncMate opens when I plug in via USB (as does ActiveSync on the device), but the Connect and Sync Now buttons are greyed out — same problem I was having with previous versions. I’ve restarted several times. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to upgrade to WM6 for this to work?

  10. Richard L said,

    I have the same problem when the Syncmate driver is loaded on my T-Mobile Dash. I get ‘Error: Access Denied. Please switch security configuration on Your device into APPLICATION UNLOCKED mode.’ too.

  12. Jake said,

    I’m having the same trouble Jesse MC has. The older version started up, I never fully tested because my phone was MIA, but the newest version won’t even start up.
    Leopard 10.5.1 Console says “SyncMate[208] Unable to load nib file: MainMenu, exiting ” and the icon is the generic application icon.

    I really hope you folks get it to work, you have some great apps, I’ve pointed them out to some friends and they seem really interested. Keep up the good work Eltima.

  13. Log says: Cant connect to phone

    I re-downloaded last night and ran it as an upgrade and it’s working again so I presume the install script has been fixed?

    Unfortunately it still doesn’t work for my T-Mobile HTC Wizard. The program launches when I connect my phone and the upper left icon ‘lights up’ but Connect and Sync are greyed out. If I force a sync I get the usual handshake error issue. Tried a soft reset but same results.

    Thanx el_coda,

    After ‘Application unlocking’ my device SyncMate did the first sync nearly successful… Calendar entries without time are on the previous day on iCal. If i create a new entry without time in iCal it’s correctly transfert to the smartphone. The only thing is, that syncing with ical syncs only one calender. Is there a way to sync all calenders at the same time?

    A few more things:

    - The SMS manager works nicely as well. I instantly managed to clean up this evergrowing pile of old text messages on my mobile.

    - “Device info” seemed to hang everything for well over 10 seconds, after that the information does display.. however, impatience could cause one one to kill the app. before that. (Happened to me the first time)

    - iPhoto sync did sync the pictures I asked from my mobile, but the jpeg files were unreadable on my laptop.

    Phone: E-ten Glofiish X500+ running WM6

    nota: I alreadu post a comment on previous post concerning version .260 (http://blog.eltima.com/2007/12/syncmate-100260-beta.html#comment-867)

    @Richard L & Tom Schmidt

    I encounter the same issue concerning message ‘… APPLICATION UNLOCKED mode.’ on the mobile. In my case it was due to a security guard feature included by my provider (Orange) for security reason. I just have to follow the wizard of my provider at the url: http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx to unlock security.
    I found one blog dicussing about this on http://www.spv-developers.com/forum/archive/index.php?t-236.html
    My devise is a SPV C600.

    I wish that can help you guys,

    This looks promising, but requiring a system restart every time it’s updated is a deal breaker for me, and I suspect for others too. If the likes of iLife can be installed without restarts, surely you can find a way too :-)

    I realise this is beta software and at this stage you are probably more concerned with features and debugging – but please give this some thought before the release version.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help.
    See you.

  53. We can not get the software to work and we have tried it with three different phones (using Leopard 10.5.1).

    QTek 6200 – WM 5
    QTek 8310 – WM 5
    Glofiish X500 – WM6

    The installation in Mac OS X works fine but we can not get the installation to/in the phones to even start – so no go and we have tried the latest version and the previoius version och Syncmate.

    Great idea but as said – the software does not work as expected.

  54. I tried to sent you the mail to support address in December regarding some bugs, but still no reply, so maybe you read those comments.

    I find SyncMate VERY NICE! Thank you for all the job.
    Yet I found that iCal synchronization works not as expected.

    My PDA is CET (EU winter time) UTC+1, when I sync it to iCal SyncMate reports all imported events to be not CET (GMT+1) but GMT while the time is still expressed in CET (GMT+1) so finally everything is +1H in the iCal, this would be so bad but if I try sync again with my PDA because we got the 1H diff all events are synced back again and again they are synced with +1H, so finally I got +2H shift in all events in my PDA. This make iCal sync really unusable in current stage.

    The sync is also changing the event status to “free” even it was “busy” by default (PDA) back on my PDA.

    My PDA is Windows Mobile 6 (HTC Prophet, Qtek S200) English.

    P.S. Note also in EU we got CEST (summer time) change, but the events should stay where they were even when we hit summer time change.

    I would be glad if you could get those 2 bugs fixed. Best regards.

    Please, reinstall the driver and restart your device.

    @Jay, Daan, florian, dmz, Grabman, Lee, emptyo
    Try to reinstall SyncMate driver from your device and connect to the Mac again. And check firewall settings.

    @Tobe, Frank
    No, there is no such trick available … yet :)

    @Karl, Claudio, Sara Axelsson
    Try to re-download and reinstall the application.

    @foudordi
    Please, backup your contacts on a Mac, then delete them and upload from your device. Set “Mobile device -> Mac” synchronization direction. Don’t forget to backup your data!

    @Harry
    Are you sure you have the latest (1.0.0.299) build installed? If so, how many events do you have? We’ll test this issue.

    @Steven, el_coda
    Try to reinstall the application or log in under another user account.

    @netgui, Sander
    If there’s nothing happens on your device, please, check firewall settings and add SyncMate to trusted applications.

    @Rui Pinge, Wout
    Guys, thanks for reporting. Please, sync via WiFi, not USB cable. We’ll fix this as soon as possible.

    @marc, elanecu, k mason
    If you want to use SyncMate you should unlock your device. Gab managed to do that so you may refer to his comment here – http://blog.eltima.com/2008/01/sync-your-mac-and-a-smartphone-with-syncmate.html#comment-968 and here – http://blog.eltima.com/2008/01/sync-your-mac-and-a-smartphone-with-syncmate.html#comment-983 . Good luck!

    @Thomas
    Check firewall settings or unlock your phone.

    @Gab
    It’s cool everything is OK at last… Many thanks for your help! If you’d like to get a license for any of our products, please, contact me helen.white@eltima.com and I’ll present it to you :)

    @Beta
    Thanks, we’ll consider your suggestion.

    @Alan
    Did you try to reinstall the driver on your device?

    @Ryan, Jesse MC, Joerg Knoerchen, Mikael Winterkvist
    Check your firewall settings and reinstall the driver. If the problem still persists, please, show me the actions log.

    @Dave, the dude
    Thank you guys very much! :) Enjoy!

    @mistertiti
    Thanks, this issue will be fixed in the next release.

    Please, make sure time zones set on your Mac and on your mobile device coincide with each other.
    As regards changing the event status, this issue is fixed in the latest build (1.0.0.299)

    whow, very long post before from me. Just one positive result: Plugin a USB connection with my smartphone automatically starts SyncMate!
    What’s not clear to me after reading all blogs: What means “Try to reinstall SyncMate driver from your device” Is there a driver somewhere directly for the mobile? (my firewall is off, phone is unlocked, using Mac 10.5.1) Thank you!

  60. Jay said,

    In my case I suspect the issue is I never get prompted to install the syncmate driver. Is there any way to manually do this, to force installation, or to do further debug work?

  61. Sander said,

    So I just upgraded to WM6 on my Blackjack, I fixed the firewall problems and I can now sync!!

    The major problem I have now is when syncing iCal, it doesn’t transfer any entries that I set on repeat in iCal, to my phone. Sometimes it does just the first entry, but not even that all the time.

    Other than that, things look good. Thanks!

    Sander

  62. Grabman said,

    have uninstalled and re-installed Syncmate, still no luck getting it to run.

    checked firewall as Helen suggested, is set to accept connections, mo problem there.

    If I plug phone in, then start Syncmate, then hit “sync” from Syncmate drop menu i get following in Actions Log:
    BackService version: 0.3.1d4
    USB driver version: 0.2.3b2

    BEGIN SYNCING…
    Successfully saved file.
    Handshake error.

    Cant connect to Pocket

    END SYNCING

    If I start Syncmate first then plug phone in it just freezes and I have to force quit to kill it.

    product looks promising, but still won’t work!

  63. Joerg Knoerchen said,

    Finally I got SyncMate run, after running SyncMate Uninstaller with every account on my iMac.

    Now I have some issues:
    iCal: an appointment that repeats every 2nd sunday on my WM5 is in iCal every saturday – an appointment that should repeat every 4 weeks on tuesday shows up in iCal every tuesday – an appointment that should be every week on monday, wednesday and friday is only on every wednesday in iCal

    I’ve setup a folder at SyncMate which sould sync oneway to my iMac does not copy the content from my WM5 to my iMac.

    Pulling out my device without disconnecting before brings my whole iMac to freeze – nothing more I can do :-(

    My contacts are synced but without their groups they belong to.

    When working with more than one logged in user and connecting my device, on every users account SyncMate starts!

    Finally I’m missing a sync for my To-Do-list.

    The USB Driver or the Driver on the Phone?
    Actually, it seems that there is no driver on the Phone.

    I have been playing around with the latest build and have been ok with build 299!

    SMS: count is up to date! I can now read all (if not most, since I don’t want to count that much) of my SMS!

    Apps: Great job in fixing the install! Haven’t encountered any problems even with testing cancelling the install on my Kaiser! Woohoo!

    One issue I’ve just encountered, I got a couple of SyncMate Driver error wherein the driver cannot be started. I think it said error code 2. I recently installed a couple of apps and initially thought that was the issue but I tried rebooting my PPC and SyncMate recognized my phone flawlessly.

    I tried syncing via WiFi but can’t seem to get it connected though.

    Thanks for the latest build, it has been working really well for me.

    Btw additional thing I noticed:

    Folder Synching: I tried this but everytime I connect my Kaiser, it prompts me that the files in the folder changed and I have to resolve the conflicts. Files are movie and mp3 files. I don’t really edit those files just play them from time to time on my phone.

  72. Harry said,

    Thanks Helen for your reply. I am pretty sure that I have the version you are mentioning. I do have several appointments (and recurrent appointments), since my calendar combines normal appointments, birthday reminders, etc etc.

    Do you think that this is the problem? A thought to offer, in that case: could you adopt the Microsoft policy of choosing a period of past appointments for sync (they do from 2 weeks, I think, up to all the appointments you have).

    Let me know if you need any further information about the problem and thank for the excellent job!

    I am able to sync my XDA Orbit (HTC Artemis) with iCal (with some frictions when syncing reoccuring events where some single events of this event-series have been deleted in my mobile phone), photofolder and the addressbook. However I’m unable to select a playlist for iTunes even though it is installed and playlists are generated. I even installed iTunes again (though it is already installed on leopard (15.0.1)).
    Any reasons why I cannot get any response from Syncmate, when I click on the playlist button? Is it a bug and if yes: will it be fixed in the next version?

    Update: I rebooted, turned off my firewall and connected my MDA and was prompted to install the driver on the device! I installed it to the device, not a storage card and install went OK. If I disconnect and reconnect I continue to get the “Can’t start driver, error 2″ error on the device itself.

    Note: If I re-enable my firewall it no longer connects so I definitely have some firewall issues. Your manual mentions opening a specific IP address but I can not find a way to do so in OS X 10.4

    First of all: It works now with a USB connection!
    Definitly
    - Missing Sync stuff must completely removed (using Spotlight after uninstall)
    - Leopard firewall must allow all incoming connections (after rebooting I saw my windows pc first time…)
    - on the smartphone (HTC S710 aka VOX with WM 6), the option “advanced network functions” (within USB to PC) must be activated
    - complete uninstall of SyncMate (using uninstall and AppZapper)
    - after rebooting both MacBook and Smartphone I got the prompt for installing the driver on the phone. hooray!
    I tried to sync bookmarks (only the way to the Mac works!), time and itunes (some troubles with german ä, ö, ü…) Looks pretty good!
    But calender didn’t work (the error results in a disconnect also):
    plugin: iCal
    AS_CHECK_APPOINTS error.

    Add 0 events from Pocket

    In case you don’t know how to delete a user account on a Mac, here is how you do it –
    go to “System preferences” -> “Accounts”. There is a window with a list of accounts. Within the bottom left area there is a lock. Click it, pass the authentication (i.e. type your password) and click “-” to delete the account.

    @Grabman, Alan, Matthias Strack
    Previous versions of SyncMate installed its driver on a device quietly (i.e. without any notifications).
    Here is how to delete SyncMate driver form your device.
    Go to \windows folder and delete as_starter.exe and AsyncSvr.dll. If you do not see these files, enable “Show all files” option. Next time you connect the device to your Mac, SyncMate will install its driver on your device.
    If the problem still persists, please, check your firewall settings.

    @Sander
    Thanks for reporting, we’ll fix this issue.

    @Joerg Knoerchen
    We’ll fix iCal issues ASAP.
    As regards content transfer, please, show me the actions log.

    @Hampus
    FYI iSync is a third-party application and its compatibility is no concern of ours.
    SyncMate is compatible with Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 devices.

    @Lee
    Please, check your firewall settings.

    @rien
    Have you tried to restart your device?

    @maximus, el_coda
    In order to sync via Wi-Fi you should assign an IP to your device. SyncMate driver must be active (tray icon on your device). As regards folder sync, we’ll investigate this issue, thanks.

    @Harry
    Thanks for co-operation. You seem to have a really huge event list :)
    Please, send me the actions log, we’ll investigate this.

    @Greg
    When SyncMate starts there is a prompt to install a driver on the device and you should allow installation. If your smartphone is locked (i.e. “Access Denied”), in order to use SyncMate you should unlock it. If you have installed previous versions of the application before, you should uninstall/delete SyncMate driver from your device as described above.

    @Der_Hexer
    Your playlist file may be located not in its default destination… However, we’ll try to fix it in the next build.

    @tiejer
    This problem occurs when there is a huge number of events. How many of them do you have?

    @Jay
    Uninstall SyncMate, delete driver files as described above, and reinstall the application.

    @Nick
    Do you have ActiveSync on your device installed?

    @chris
    Thanks, we’ll fix iCal issues.
    German symbols. Please, send me a screenshot at helen.white@eltima.com.
    Bookmarks. Check “Favorites” folder on your device, they must be sitting there.
    Wi-Fi. Note that in order to establish a Wi-Fi connection, SyncMate driver must be active (tray icon on your device).

    I un-installed the application on my Mac using AppCleaner and the driver on the hand-held using Total Commander to delete the files you listed. I rebooted Mac and Soft-reset the hand-held and re-installed but I still get the same errors. On the phone (couldn’t start the driver, error 2) and on my Mac (can’t connect), presumably because the driver will not start on the phone.

    I’ve tried uninstalls/reinstalls and removing all components of any other sync program that I’ve ever heard of. The firewall is off. Numerous restarts of my MacBook and Bell HTC Touch. I get one of the following:

    BEGIN SYNCING…
    Successfully saved file.
    Can’t create RAPI fore.
    Cant connect to Pocket
    END SYNCING

    or

    BEGIN SYNCING…
    Successfully saved file.
    Handshake error.
    Cant connect to Pocket
    END SYNCING

    Usually the second of the two errors. My phone isn’t wi-fi enabled, but can do bluetooth.

    Please advise,

    Streesh.

    No luck on my Cingular 2125 smartphone running Windows Mobile 5. Application installs, but never “sees” or tries to install the driver to the phone. Not a firewall issue that I can tell.

    I just purchased a Sprint Mogul (WM6 Professional) and am excited about this software for synching my contacts/calendares/etc. between the Mac and the handheld but I’ve run into a problem. I downloaded and installed the latest version (1.0.0.299) and it installed correctly. When I plug my mogul into the computer via usb syncmate starts, but the connection icon still shows as disconnected and no drivers ever pop up to install on my device. Has anyone had a similar experience, and were you able to fix it? Any ideas on what I could do to get this working. I really appreciate the advice.

    your issue looks same as mine!
    I tried to open iSync on Mac it will see my phone (Dopod D810 basically a HTC) but cant sync to i, so I know nor firewall issue here either.
    Will just have to wait for next build I suppose to see if issues resolved.

    Please, check the firewall.
    Note that you should delete stated folder before the installation.

    @jalias
    Are you sure the log you’ve copied is complete?

    @Greg, Reid, Jay, James
    Please, unlock your device and check the firewall.

    @Grabman, streesh, James, Fran
    Make sure you have ActiveSync installed on your device, check the firewall and restart the device.
    If the problem still persists, show me the actions log.

    @Mikhail
    Yes, such feature will be added.

    @pieter
    Thanks for reporting, we’ll fix this ASAP.

    @Helen,

    Thanks for the response. I verified ActiveSync is installed on the device and even tested connecting to a windows machine. I also disabled the firewall completely and now when I plug my device in the disconnected icon gets brighter and the mouse cursor starts spinning. It never does anything else. I let it run for about 1 hour and still nothing. I’ve tried several times and always get the same result. I end up having to force quit SyncMate eventually. The only thing I’ve seen in the actions log is:

    BackService version: 0.3.1d4
    USB driver version: 0.2.3b2

    Since it’s locking up i can’t tell if anything else gets written to the log, but I did find this in the console log:

    2008-01-22 15:44:56.970 SyncMate[404] Initializing with data from file /Users/laurafox/Library/Application Support/SyncMate/com.Eltima.SyncMate.xml
    2008-01-22 15:44:56.996 SyncMate[404] Read in some data on init from backup file
    BackService version: 0.3.1d4
    USB driver version: 0.2.3b2

    Hope this helps, and thanks again for the response.

    ActiveSync is installed on my device and is working. As I said before if I plug device into Mac Syncmate starts and then freezes, forcing me to force quite the app. If I start SyncMate first then plug in device, it will allow me to see actions log, but nothing there other than handshake error message.

    I am going to paste in messages from appfirewall.log:
    Jan 23 11:17:37 The-Mac Firewall[49]: rapiback is listening from 0.0.0.0:990 uid = 0 proto=6
    Jan 23 11:17:39 The-Mac Firewall[49]: Allow rapiback connecting from 169.254.2.1:1028 uid = 0 proto=6

    and also from Console Messages, this log was cleared prior to plugging in device and shows only messages while trying to SyncMate to connect:

    Hi Helen,

    You advised me earlier to create another user for the proper sync. However, I do not wish to create a new user just for this sync’ing purpose. Can you not send me a default “BLANK” datastore file instead?

    Thanks

    @Fran, Grabman
    Please, check firewall settings on your Mac, soft reset your device and if the problem still persists you can make hard reset, but don’t forget to backup your data.

    @reid
    Have you rebooted your device after unlocking? Have you deleted SyncMate old driver files from your device? (http://blog.eltima.com/2008/01/sync-your-mac-and-a-smartphone-with-syncmate.html#comment-1040)

    @adam
    You should delete SyncMate old driver files in this way http://blog.eltima.com/2008/01/sync-your-mac-and-a-smartphone-with-syncmate.html#comment-1040

    @Steven
    You can reset SyncMate profile using the application’s menu.

    Wow, I definitely like the GUI and the ease of use with this software. It took a lot of patience to get it working, but once I figured out that I had to change the USB setting on the device, it worked very easily.

    Two questions, though:
    1. It appears to only sync the one calendar. Do you have plans to allow syncing of multiple iCal calendars to the categories on the WM5 device?
    2. The wi-fi syncing, is it suppose to work with WM5? I thought Windows disabled that for security.

    Hi,
    Just wanted to thank you for Syncmate! I have a T-Mobile MDA Touch Plus (aka HTC Touch Dual) and it syncs beautifully with my MacBook. Or it didn’t at first, but everything went smoothly after I turned off my Mac’s firewall :-)
    Thanks a lot, you guys made my life a lot easier!

    Hi helen-
    thanks for your help. unfortunately i still cannot link syncmate .299 up with my HTC Tytn with Leopard. I have:
    1) disabled the firewall in os

    3) deleted the 2 old drivers in the phone wthin the windows directory you recommended
    4) uninstalled and reinstalled syncmate

    the drivers were always installing properly in the phone and the installation in the phone is prompted, and without problem it says successful installing. But when I try to connect, it still says the same thing “can’t start driver, error 2″. what is wrong? is this some conflict with activesync from microsoft?

    I will try this again as my last post was obviously moderated and deleted, maybe you could advise why? I said nothing inflammatory.

    I have checked firewall as I said, it is set to accept incoming connections. I have done a soft and hard reset on my device and still no joy. There does not appear to be an attempt to install drivers on my device. Syncmate just freezes when I connect my device and I need to force quit to clear it.

    I would really like to get this working as it seems a great ap’

    Hi Helen,

    for me the new release works in the way of that I’m still able to connect to my PDA but all my mentioned isseus before are still there….

    iCal: an appointment that repeats every 2nd sunday on my WM5 is in iCal every saturday – an appointment that should repeat every 4 weeks on tuesday shows up in iCal every tuesday – an appointment that should be every week on monday, wednesday and friday is only on every wednesday in iCal

    I’m a bit disappointed :-(

    Kind regards

    1. Sure, multiple calendars synchronizing is planned for following versions.
    2. Wi-Fi functionality doesn’t depend on the OS’s version. You just need a device that supports Wi-Fi.

    @adam, Al
    It seems you need to unlock your device.

    @Mark
    Are you sure you’ve the latest build installed (1.0.0.299)?
    If so, reset SyncMate profile and restart your Mac.

    @florian
    Please provide the actions log for us to investigate.

    @Grabman
    There were some problems with the network on January, 23, may be that is the reason, but I’d like to assure you that in no case our users’ posts can be deleted and they aren’t moderated in any way, too. It’s just our blog policy. :)
    In case you use a USB hub to connect try direct USB connection and if the keyboard is locked, unlock it and try to establish connection once more.

    If you mean tasks syncing – yes, we’ll add this feature.
    As you see, there is still much to workout, so there is no exact release date yet :)

    @Reid
    Do you use USB hub to connect?
    Note that driver files should be deleted from the device’s \windows directory.

    Thanks for the tip :)

    2. Changes did not really happened. I choose to sync with the “Mobile Contact” group. When I removed several contacts from the group. But the phone did not remove but still existed.

    Syncmate is really a good solution between WM6 phone and MAC.
    Hope syncmate could better and better.

    I am having the same problems as Fran. We have the same phone (Sprint Mogul) and when I plug it into the computer via usb, nothing happens. I am running syncmate build 1.1.0311rc and Leopard 10.5.1. I’ve tried it on two different computers and the response is the same. I’ve also verifed activesync and firewall as suggested in the other posts. I don’t know where to go now. Please help!

  155. Fran said,

    If this gets duplicated I’m sorry, but my first post has not appeared, so I’m thinking it got lost.

    @Ray
    I’ve managed to resolve my problem by upgrading to OSX 10.5.1 (I had all ready planned to upgrade, just got lucky that it fixed my syncmate problem.) The problem seems to be with OSX 10.4.10 and somes phones. For the firewall settings I have it set to “Set access for specific services and application” and have syncmate set to allow incoming connections. If I can check any other settings to help out please let me know.

    Only, messages in “Draft” and “Deleted Items” sms folder are shown. I do not see how to select folders or to delete messages. Maybe I am misinterpreting the following:

    Select necessary SMS folder (Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items) to read or delete them, using “Delete” button on your keyboard or “Delete selected sms” button at the bottom of the window.

    Somebody can help?

    Hi everyone,
    I spent hours on SyncMate because it wouldn’t connect to my Mio A701 (on WM5). I figured out that uninstall and reinstall is not enough, you should manually delete the folder named Syncmate in Application Support in your Home folder. This way the installer will effectively reinstall everything, including an entry in Network, that was desesperatly missing for me.
    Like many, unfortuntly I have the damn error with iCal resulting in a little red cross, and an entry in Actions log with “AS_CHECK_APPOINTS error”.
    Hope it helps … That would be nice if people from Eltima would read all these posts !!!

    For all SGH-I600 users….
    Before you install Syncmate, please googling for “SDA_ApplicationUnlock”. Once you run it, the phone will restart.
    (I run it from Windows)

    Connect your i600 to Mac and install eltima.
    Look at your phone screen that you have to allow Syncmate to install driver on your phone.

    Click yes and let your phone restart.

    Unplug and plug again the phone to your Mac.

    Just that.

    Mine works great: iCal, Addresbook, SMS manager and all of the features running well.

    Time to googling SDA_ApplicationUnlock :)
    It’s easy to find and it’s free.

  168. Vic said,

    @Frank P –
    Please, make sure that iCal item is checked. Please, check your synchronization direction, make sure you synchronization is not set from your device to Mac. You see, SyncMate creates a default calendar named mobile and synchronizes with it. If you want to synchronize any other calendars, you need to change the calendar to be synchronized to the one, you want to sync.

    Now you have to run SDA Unlock and unlock your device. If we understand you correctly, the driver has already been installed, isn’t it? If it asks you about installing the driver, please press Yes.

  176. Kelly said,

    I have tried to install the driver. I got a link from the Syncmate support people. But the SDA driver is a .exe file. That is for windows and I have a mac, hence the first problem?

  178. Kelly said,

    So, maybe I should try and explain it differently.
    I got the SDA Application Unlock Driver but its an .exe file.
    Mac’s do not recognize .exe files. Is there not a mac compatible driver for the program that connects blackjacks to mac’s????

  179. Vic said,

    @Kelly -
    you have to run SDA Application Unlock on your phone, which runs Windows.

  180. Kelly said,

    So I need to go to the link via my internet on my cellphone? Then download the driver?

  181. Vic said,

    @Kelly -
    No, I meant that you have to download SDA Application Unlock by a machine, that runs Windows. You will have to find a PC, to download SDA Application Unlock and install it via Active Sync.

    I had similar problems as you guys. After a hard reset of my PDA I was not able to connect the MAc and my PDA. I tried to uninstall and reinstall SyncMate, delete the mentioned files om my PDA, but nothing helped. The drivers on the PDA was missing and SyncMate did not tried to install the “Smartphone2005.arm.CAB”

    But a found the solution:
    On the Mac, go to: System Preferences > Network : On the left side in addition to “Ethernet”, “Bluetooth”, “”Firewire”, etc. you will see “Windows Mobile device”.
    Delete this one, by selecting the minus sign. The connect your PDA via the USB and then Bingo! (At least for me)
    You should now get the information about to install the “Smartphone2005.arm.CAB” on your PDA and from that it should be as normal.
