SyncMate Approaches Final Release

We are on the last phase before the official release of SyncMate. So, today we are announcing SyncMate Release Candidate (RC) version. We worked hard, trying to fix all the reported issues and the ones we have found on our own. We’ve made a long way towards this RC version and it is, we hope, the last step before the final release coming very soon.SyncMate RC

This is a fully-functional Expert Edition with multiple features added, with improved stability and speed. We have changed and fixed as much of the reported issues as we could. And we would be glad to hear what YOU think, whether syncing works fine for you or not.

Here’s what we would like to offer you:
You are welcome to download SyncMate RC version and unlock it with the following Registration Information:
Registration Name: Beta
Registration Key: C1274C24-C564002D-6218783C-0620549A-29388825-70C45464-7906BD78-D817FA2B

You are free to run complete tests of this version until March, 15 (RC version will expire).
From our side, we will fix all issues and problems as you report them on an on-going basis. Please, note that the most active testers of SyncMate RC will receive free SyncMate official licenses from Eltima.

Your comments are always appreciated.

    It still doesn’t work with blackberry. Has anyone gotten it to work with blackberry?

    I have been eagerly awaiting each release, hoping that the next update would work with my HTC S710. Still no luck. I install the application, restart my mac, and then plug in my phone. Nothing. Try starting Syncmate, plug in my phone – still nothing.

    I have also cold reset my phone – no difference. Cleaned Syncmate using the uninstaller, and then Appzapper. No kext installed, no Library files or preference files. Reinstalled, still not working.

    Really want Syncmate to work but will have to look at alternatives if this RC is indicative of the final release.

    Feedback for Syncmate running on an iBook (PPC) running Tiger, 10.4.11, syncing with HTC_S710 (Windows Mobile 6):
    - it appears to be impossible to sync while the firewall is active – the connect/disconnect and sync buttons are inactive if the firewall is on (I have most options in the firewall set to off). In the Help file you suggest allowing this IP address through the firewall: 169.254.2.2. Like Jay who commented about a similar problem evident in the previous release, I don’t know how to do this on 10.4 … Syncs fine with firewall off …
    - on my machine, clicking the ‘Add Album’ button does not work, whether iPhoto is launched or not (I have iPhoto 5.0.4) – this was an issue for some people in the previous release too

    Other than that, syncing seems to be ok – contacts, folders, iTunes, Notes and Time syncing went ok.

    I love the new SMS manager – I spent days trying to find a way to send SMS messages from my Mac, and there is nothing else out there compatible with WM6 – it’s a first, and it’s great!

    I could never get the earlier version to work, and no luck with this one either. I have a PPC-6700 running WM5, and an Intel Core Duo MacBook running 10.4.11. The SyncMate screen opens up, but the USB icon is gray, and the connect button is gray. Crossing my fingers that a fix is in the works. Thanks!

    The Update is working great here on my end with a macbrook pro and t-mobile dash…good job guys….one recommendation I do have is to incorporate an explore feature similar to activesync so that you can see the contents of your phone (files, etc) from the computer.

    I downloaded the above version. Started it up, first question is if I want to upgrade to expert version, by clicking Yes I come on this page again, filling in the reg name and key does not help; hereafter I tried to open Syncmate with a T-mobile MDA connected. First I have to install the driver, my MDA says that the old driver will be deleted, hereafter it says it can’t. I searched for elt*, syncm* and as_* and deleted the to Syncmate connected files, soft reset…. started up Syncmate again, same question with installing the driver , hereafter tried to connect, again driver must be installed, and so on, and so on.
    Question 1 : what is the name for the driver and where is it installed ?

    Thanks, Rien

    Great work guys – I love the new features! The new included video encoder is awesome!

    File transfers (as in folder or iTunes syncing) still seem pretty slow to me. Much slower than if I were to use cardexport or wm5torage to transfer files. Still, that’s a pretty minor problem as I don’t need to sync files very often.

    I would like to see some kind of minimal mode. Since the program pops up whenever I plug my phone in, it would be nice if it just opened into the menubar or as a smaller window and had the option to automatically sync and then close down.

    Hi there
    Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I can’t seem to download the RC version.
    After downloading, I’m not being asked for the Registration details, and when I try to use it, I get the old version that won’t allow me to sync Notes etc, and I’m asked if i want to upgrade to the Expert version. I click Yes, then download, but seems to be the old version again.
    I’ve uninstalled the old version each time, and deleted the previous downloads.
    Help!!

    Device: HTC TyTN II factory ROM etc. No mods.
    MBP C2D 2.16GHz.

    Things I noticed since build 299 (the one released last Jan 3)
    I get a new shourtcut in my programs and have traced it to the install of SyncMate Driver. Programs -> Accessories -> OneTierPromt.cpf
    Just wanted to ask what this was for and if it could be deleted? Sorry a bit of obsessive compulsive behavior here to cleanup my device.

    In r266 I think I put in a suggestion to keep the phone “on” and I found my own answer via power settings, On External Power, I unchecked the box to keep phone from shutting off while syncing. This is in reference to my previous comment, item 4: http://blog.eltima.com/2007/11/syncmate-reported-issues-fixed.html#comment-640, and is particularly helpful to keep the phone from shutting “off” and disconnecting the connection to SM.

    Option in Folder Sync Up -> Pocket, MAC and how about None to skip that file? I do have big files that I have in my phone, such as back-ups and videos and everytime I do a sync, it will sync every item even those that haven’t changed. I think I already sent this feedback before but couldn’t find it.

    I did notice the iTunes Sync has a video component and its now possible to enter a new encoding profile. I also noticed that its similar to the Quicktime export options. Does SM have its own encoder or actually uses QuickTime component to encode the video to the selected size? I tried the audio part and its working as expected.

    All in all. I think SM RC is much more stable than r299. From the beginning, the only build I had a problem was the last r299 wherein I always got a “driver cannot be started” on my TyTN II even with removing all components and reinstalling which I tried around 6x. RC is better with the past 4 hours I’ve been using it with my phone. 4 hours of setting up the folder sync which I haven’t used since r260, but everything seems to be running fine, took a bit of time to folder sync because of the 700Mb backups of my phone.

    I do like the enhancements that were added, minor but helpful nonetheless. I do want to try the SMS reader and SMS manager but holding off since I have Vito SMS installed and apparently it stores messages in a different database than the default messaging app. Maybe in a day or two.

    BTW, I think this is the first SyncMate announcement that wasn’t made my Helen.

    Darn. Another upgrade, and syncmate stops working again. Mac OSXLeopard and my Orange SPV M600 talked to each other yesterday but after today’s upgrade they won’t. Can’t uninstall from the mobile device tells me “Can’t start driver, error 2″. There are 2 copies of the driver on the mobile device it seems.

    When trying to install on the mobile I am offered 2 locations to install to, but it will accept neither despite there being plenty of room in each. I can’t find how to delete the old version of Syncmate from the mobile device, but still looking.

  23. Hi,

    I was writing on your blog that iCal synchronization had several problem, still they are not fixed.
    I have WM6 QTEK 200 (HTC Prophet) device, my time-zone is both CET (UTC+1) on my QTEK and MacBook (10.5.1).

    SyncMate is trying synchronize event from my PDA dated 2007-10-19 10:30 CET, to my iCal as 2019-07-10 10:30 GMT.

    This really makes iCal synchronization useless, and dangerous also!
    1) Year, month & day are scrambled
    2) Time-zones DON’T match

    Also when I delete some calendar SyncMate still lists it in the calendar choice list.
    Note that in Europe date notation (format) is different than in US. Please try to do synchronization with French locale settings and CET (UTC+1) timezone.

    Last important thing is that SyncMate won’t work when you don’t allow it to accept incoming connections. (This is related to previous blog post)

    Therefore I don’t think SyncMate is ready for final release yet.

    Hi just an update on my experience of new rc version of syncmate, I had the latest beta version which had expired and as such downloaded the rc version today. also upgraded using key to expert version. the software has repeatedly crashed. firstly it wouldnt connect to my mda vario 2 windows mobile 2 device. i restarted the mobile and still it would nt connect, then it updated the driver and yet still wouldnt connect, the syncmate would “unexpectedly quit’.
    it asked me for the device password which i entered and yet again it wouldnt connect and then ‘unexp quit’. i have then uninstalled the software and reinstalled with restart etc. it now appears to connect but when i click sync now it just shows the spinning sync icon forever. i have tried several times and after 5 mins of syncing the bookmarks i then see contacts and ical also syncing then it unexpec quits!!!!
    i have yet (having tried all day) been able to complete a sync.
    the app seems very buggy and much more likely to quit than the beta version which i got to work!
    any ideas??

    @Everyone
    Thanks for all your comments. Your feedback helps making SyncMate better.

    @Lorrimer -
    You need to check whether your firewall is disabled. If you have successfully synced earlier (using older versions of SyncMate), then you need to delete the driver from your device and reboot your device.

    @rien Meijer, Delbert -
    Your device seems to be locked. You see, this error appears only when device is locked. Please, unlock your device. In order to do this, please, try using SDA Application Unlock software.

    @Alberto -
    You see, SyncMate supports only Windows Mobile 5 and 6.

    @Naraheen, Joerg Knoerchen –
    SyncMate doesn’t support the synchronization of “To do items” and “Mail notes”. We are working on this feature and would surely implement it in future, but for now it is impossible.

    @sgilder1, Michael Kral , Edmond Hsieh –
    Please, describe the exact sequence of your actions and what response you receive from the product. Please, send your detailed information to support@eltima.com and we would be glad to help you.

    @florian(rizoto2) –
    According to your log the synchronization went fine. Please, try to reset your SyncMate profile and reboot your device. Please, contact our support team (support@eltima.com) if the problem keeps occurring.

    OneTierPromt.cpf is like a device modes switcher. If your device is locked, then you need this to change to mode of the device to “unlocked”. If your connection is stable you can delete it. And yes, this SyncMate announcement was made by Victoria :)

    @Joerg Knoerchen –
    Please, try to reset your SyncMate profile and reboot your device.+SyncMate doesn’t support the synchronization of “To do items”. And we support only Safari bookmarks synchronization. If you use another browser, SyncMate might not synchronize them.

    @Niklas –
    Please, check whether your firewall allows the connection. However, your device might be locked. Please, find in my other answers how to unlock your device.

    @dave –
    Your device seems to be locked. Please go to Programs -> Accessories -> and run OneTierPromt.cpf . If this won’t work for you, them you can try using SDA Application Unlock to unlock your device.

    @Adam Strzelecki –
    First of all you need to set the same time zone on your Mac and on your device. Then try to synchronize with time plugin, thus your device will have the same date as your Mac. After this please, try synchronizing your iCal again. It is a normal situation when you need allow all incoming connections. If this doesn’t work for you, then you need to add back service.app to the exceptions list.

    @florian(florian.darsy) –
    Thanks you for the information. We are waiting forward to your further investigation.

    @eric –
    It seems that SyncMate service crashes. Please, try installing the new patch Apple has released recently. If this won’t work for you, please drop us an e-mail to support@eltima.com with a reference to our blog and we will tell you another way how to fix this.

    @jac –
    Please, check whether your cable connection is stable.

    Thank you for letting us know. Your device now is in the list of supported devices. We will be glad to provide you with a free license when we release SyncMate officially.

    @Reid –
    According to other users HTC Wizard is on the list of supported devices.

    So far most things seem to work great. The only thing I have had problems with is syncing iCal to my Blackjack (Leopard and WM6). I have reoccurring appointments. 3 MWF appointments reoccurs weekly. 3 Tuesday appointments reoccurring weekly. The MWF appointments sync to the phone fine but for some reason the Tuesday appointments do not sync at all. I tried resetting my phone and iCal wiping everything and then reentering everything. Still no luck. So I entered the Tuesday appointments on the phone and then synced them to iCal, which worked.

    Also, there seems to be problems when also syncing with Outlook, if this is not really supported then don’t worry about that, I don’t use it anymore anyway.

    Other than that, contacts and everything else sync fine.

    If the HTC Wizard is on the supported list, I wonder why mine isn’t working? I can talk to it via the USB cable using libusb (though I don’t know what to say ;-)). When I start SyncMate, the Connect button is greyed out, as the Sync option on the File menu. It seems that SyncMate just doesn’t recognize my device? I’m trying on Leopard 10.5.1 on both a PPC and an intel machine. I have tried rebooting both desktop computers and the Wizard. Firewalls are disabled. The original driver is gone from \windows as I stated. Are there any other troubleshooting tips?

    Your device might be locked and the driver doesn’t start. In order to investigate your problem, please contact our support team at support@eltima.com. Describe your problem in details and attach the connection log.

    @reid –
    Does SyncMate start if you connect the device? Please, make sure that driver installation started at the device.

    @Joerg Knoerchen –
    Please, try renaming your calender in SyncMate and synchronize it. A new calender with such a name should be created in iCal. Then a dialog box should appear asking whether to add the calender. Press Yes. If nothing appeared after the synchronization, it means that sync service has crashed. In this case you have to download the new Mac fix. This Leopard bug is fixed there.

    @RemyA –
    Please, send us the log to ascertain successful SyncMate deployment. And thank you very much for your feature request. We will consider the possibility of implementing it in future releases.

    @NeoMorfeo –
    Thank you for your nice feedback. We would be glad if you would translate the interface of SyncMate into Spanish and Portuguese. As soon as we compile the file, I will notify you by e-mail. We would be glad to provide you with a free SyncMate license in gratitude for your translation.

    Nice Program! Works fine..I have a HTC Touch by Sprint…running on MacPro 2.2, Leopard osx. Two questions.. will it be able to install cab. files? or can it?

  43. Hello Eltima,

    No luck with an HTC P4350 (WM5) here. Just two lines of log, and then it stops. SyncMate starts/goes on foreground when I connect the USB cable, and says “event ‘disconnected’” upon detach or suspend of my mobile. Nothing else. No “OneTierPrompt” anywhere. Same behaviour also with previous version (.299).

    BTW, It works with a TyTN II (WM6) of a friend of mine, under (.299) (or at least it starts).

    so, GOOD WORK!! Make it run, men! It’s’ a REALLY NICE piece of software, and it really fills a gap.

    PS: I am a SW developer, so if you need some more in-deep info, please ask. I am quite used to catch bugs…

  44. maximus said,

    Expounding on Folder Sync from initial comment:

    Folder contained 4 backup copies of my TyTN II using spb backup/sprite backup software.
    581MB folder sync using SM took between 3-4 hours. So definitely not gonna use SM for regular folder sync on that folder. There must be a way to speed this up, I will probably try to manually copy this folder and not use SM to sync this folder for now using a PPC application that will enable my MBP to read my storage card.

    I updated Leopard to 10.5.2 and SyncMate is still working.

    SMS Manager – New SMS
    For lack of anything to do, I finally uninstalled Vito SMS-Chat to test the SMS Manger functionality. First off, it’s a great addition to the RC build. Especially with the new SMS function, much like SMS functionality of motorola phone tools I used before in windows and my Razr. I did notice however that when creating a new SMS, clicking on contacts will get my contact list however there are two things I wanted to bring up.
    1. The contacts aren’t arranged in any order that I can think of. Not by first name, last name or any order even by groups.
    2. I got a few “unknown” contacts. I checked the numbers and apparently these are contacts that I put in Company Name but no Name in contacts. For those that I don’t have an actual contact but company names like my honda dealer and food delivery hotlines.

    SMS Manager/SMS Reader
    I tested the new SMS and it works! The message I sent using SyncMate had SyncMate as the recipient though. So both SMS Manager and SMS Reader shows the “destination” as SyncMate.
    Also in relation to sent messages, my other sent messages shows the numbers only of those I sent SMS to, not the actual contact name like what the inbox shows in SyncMate. I didn’t think that anyone was gonna look at my comment before regarding this issue in http://blog.eltima.com/2007/11/syncmate-reported-issues-fixed.html#comment-640 but now I know you guys are looking at the details now and at least sent items is not showing my own number anymore as the “destination.”

    Log file has been sent via email…

  46. Vic said,

    @Babele Dunnit -
    Most likely it’s because of your firewall settings. It would be great if you sent us the full log after you connect the device and SyncMate’s start. Have you tried connecting your device to your friend’s computer? If you can get it to work, then it means that your firewall blocks the connection.

    @Roslyn -
    We are glad that the synchronization went well for you. Yes, we can install cab files.

    @maximus -
    Thank you for your useful observations. We would be glad to take them into consideration. I would like to note that synchronization via Wi-Fi is much faster then via USB. Please, try Wi-Fi synchronization and see if it works for you.

    I’m running the latest version of SyncMate with a Verizon XV6800 running Windows Mobile 6. When I go to view the device under the add folder button, I can every (I think) ROOT folder and my storage card. However, when I click on the triangle- it just disappears. I know these folders have folders within them. The next time I go into the folder pane in SyncMate and try to browser the device, the disclosure triangles aren’t even there! Oh and what will the cost be for SyncMate. It’s great for free and for cheap, but I may go with Mark/Space if the cost is close to that with the MissingSYnc’s advanced features.

  48. Firewall? No way. Sorry, I have not told you the whole story.. I posted a first entry yesterday night, with full log,

    which did not show up for some reason… Anyway: Leopard with all latest updates on a 1-month-old iMac 24”, no

    firewall at all (I know firewalls, mate… and I HATE them :)), the log is just as I told, those two lines:
    ——–
    BackService version: 0.3.1d4
    USB driver version: 0.2.3b2
    ——-
    and then stops. If you disconnect or standby, you get
    ——
    event ‘disconnected’
    ——
    every time you disconnect/standby, and if you reconnect you get SyncMate back on foreground (or restart) and that’s

    all.

    Obviously I tried to connect my phone to my friend’s Mac, but no luck at all, same behaviour. Can’t ask him his TyTN

    II to connect to my computer, sorry! :)

    I also tried to warm-reset the HTC, and uninstalled/installed/reinstalled SyncMate several times. I NEVER

    hand-deleted any file from the Mac, though, so if you believe I could try something please let me know what to do and

    I’ll be glad to help you further. Maybe the .299 uninstaller left some stuff around?

    I have a Skype client and a Navigon 6 installed on the HTC, nothing else (apart from standard WM5 stuff). No strange

    apps with could act as firewalls, I believe… I have no active processes in the WM5 “task manager”. I also

    checked/unchecked the “Connections/USB to PC” flag.

    … I even downloaded and installed the WM5 SDK to find the “OneTierPrompt.cpf” just to see what it is, you get an

    idea… (BTW, is undocumented stuff… how did you find that?? :))

    We have set the view mode in such a way on purpose, as it ensures quicker access to the device. It means only the root folder can be read. If you need to view folder’s insides, just press the triangle and and the contents will load. However, you will be able to do that only when the device is connected. Please, make sure that your device is connected when you do that. If you would like to refresh folders’ content, please press Reload button.
    FYI: When we release SyncMate officially, it will cost 39 USD.

    I get the same error sometimes. Haven’t nailed down which one of my theories, but what I do when this happens:
    1) make sure that SyncMate is closed on my Mac.
    2) do a soft reset of my WM device.
    3) connect my device to my Mac using the USB, SyncMate will automatically turn on.

    I still don’t know why this happens, maybe some executable is closed when I use HandySwitcher to close all apps, or something else.

    I used SDA application unlock that told me that my device is now unlocked.
    Unfortunetly the driver still doesn’t start. (error 2)
    I also tried again onetierprompt that returned a error message.

    The thing that I doesn’t understand is that I succeeded one time to synchronise my device with my mac.
    So I don’t understand with this driver doesn’t start now.
    Is it possible that there is a conflict with an other application?

    Syncmate running on an iBook (PPC) running Tiger, 10.4.11, syncing with HTC_S710 (Windows Mobile 6 Standard):
    For the first syncs, I had problems with folder syncing and iTunes syncing – Syncmate would tell me every time that files on both devices had changed, and regarding iTunes it would not delete files from the device which I had deleted from the playlist. But perhaps after a restart or after a day or two, this syncing started working correctly.
    Syncing contacts from my Mac to the phone works fine, but when syncing both ways, many contacts (around 90 out of a total of 240) were altered – their home email address was duplicated as their work email address too. For some, they now have two work emails and two home emails, but the same email address is listed twice! Other contacts had a similar problem with a phone number – one of the numbers became listed twice, under both home and work for example, which messes up the distinction between the two places. After reverting to my backup of contacts, Syncmate consistently crashed once while trying to sync the address book. I then switched back to one-way syncing from my Mac, but as soon as I enable two-way syncing, the same problems arise again.
    My initial problems with this version of Syncmate mentioned above have not changed: I cannot sync iPhoto albums (5.0.4) because the ‘Add album’ button does not work, and I cannot sync with OS X’s firewall activated – it’s not very practical to need to disable the firewall (and therefore disconnect from the internet) in order to sync.
    I agree with others above that while the SMS Manager is great (and I love it because I always send SMS using my Mac’s keyboard, and never with the keypad on the phone), it’s a shame that messages sent this way are marked ‘From: Syncmate’ – there’s no way to tell who they were sent to.
    To sum up, I had problems with iPhoto (mac to device), Contacts (two way syncing), and the general problem of not being able to find a way through the firewall. The other plugins work OK, other than little issues which seemed to fix themselves – I have not tested iCal syncing yet (as I would really like to sync all my calendars, rather than just one).
    According to the latest blog entry, the new build is compatible with the HTCS710 – I will install it now to see if the problems I have encountered have been fixed.
    I hope that this feedback is of some help, thanks …

    Synching over WiFi

    Finally tried WiFi Synching to check out Vic’s comment that it is faster compared to USB. No numbers yet since I want to set it up right.
    I tried using my MBP’s computer name (from Bluetooth Preferences) and Device’s Name (from Settings -> System -> About -> Device ID -> Device Name). It didn’t work out so I used the assigned IPs of both devices and it worked! I used my MBP’s IP for a more secure connection (like partnering your device, you can set this up via SyncMate Driver).

    I did noticed that SyncMate would shut itself off during folder sync while syncing with that same 581.71 MB Sized folder I had mentioned previously that I had issues on with USB syncing. I deleted that folder from the folder sync settings and everything else ran fine. I wasn’t able to get the log file since sync never completed.

    I do want to know what Device Names to use for both the MAC and WM device since I don’t want to set up the connection again and again when assigned IP changes for both. Also, Help didn’t exactly help to set this up. BTW, this was my first time to set up a WiFi connection.

    I’ve solved the iPhoto ‘Add Album’ button problem – in case anyone else has encountered the same issue, it was because I changed the name of the default library from ‘~/Pictures/iPhoto Library’ to something else – changing it back made the plugin work correctly and I can now use the ‘Add Album’ button. (Maybe eventually Syncmate could look in the iPhoto plists to find the directory of the library last used by iPhoto to solve this problem for those who have several iPhoto libraries).

    Hi, I’ve spent the better part of the day reading all of the feedback and comments and decided to download the initial version. I have MB Pro running leopard 10x and using Sprint HTC. Just wanna say as with any other app that I’ve installed on the Mac, this worked beautifully (except having to reboot everytime, but hey i’m sure that’ll be taken care of soon). I was able to install the drivers on my smartphone and able to sync iCal and address book (even conflict resolution worked perfectly).

    I then decided to download the expert version and I wanna tell you , this is FABULOUS…. being able to manage my SMS messages and have the ability to use the other features is wonderful. Great job on this product, look forward to bigger and better things to come…

    Regards,
    Jay

    Hello syncmate team!
    syncmate was working fine for a while then I had trouble starting it, after reinstallation and deleting the profiles and updating to the current version, Syncmate gets the dates messed up. appointments are changed from the 1st of may to severall days in january. I think there is a failure with the german calender. both my XDA NEO (qTek S200) and my MB (2ghz 4GB RAM OS x 10.5.1) run on german calendar and the same time zone.
    Can you help?
    Regards

    When I try to sync my iCal to my HTC Touch, the calendar on the phone incorrectly puts in calendar entries that occur on multiple days. With those entries, it puts the start date as today (even if the actual start date is in the future), and then makes the entry re-occur until the correct final day. It also seemed to repeat some of my calendar entries randomly. Any Suggestions?

    for ks20 or other, the problems “Can’t start driver, error 2″, I can go to Settings – Menus and select “SyncMate driver” It works for me prefectly

    If your wifi connection is disable after that, go again in windows logo “Start” And select “SyncMate driver” then in the option of syncmate driver select “allow all”

    sorry for my english

    I just re-sync’d this morning (first time with newest build) and it renamed every event in iCal to “Katy’s Birthday” (my sisters birthday) and then duplicated the event. So I now have two listings of every event in iCal, and the name of each event is now ALL the same.
    Thankfully it didn’t do anything to my phone, because iCal is much easier to fix:)

    This is great, I have been looking for something to sync my phone to my mac, and finally found it! I would like to see a couple of features added that aren’t here, but hopefully will be in future versions. First would be BlueTooth support, and second would be a file system browser for the phone. These two features would make this perfect for me. Otherwise, it does everything else I want.

    I have only experienced one issue with this, when I try to STOP a sync the device does nothing, the sync continues. I am not sure why it doesn’t work, but hopefully someone will come up with a fix for it soon. Otherwise everything seems to behave as expected.

    I have had no problems getting this running on my MacBook Pro, under OS X version 10.5.2 and my Cingular/AT&T 8525 running Windows Mobile 6 Professional, CE OS 5.2.1413 (Build 17913.0.3.0), Processor SC32442-400MHz. If you need further info about either device, please let me know

    I have a Qtek S200 and it is not working. Installed latest version of Syncmate. Working on a Leopard 10.5.2 version.
    It has the “Can’t start driver, error 2″ error.
    I don’t like Syncmate yet, cause it is not working for me :(

    @jwvink -
    “Can’t start driver error 2.” error appears only when your device is locked. Please, unlock your device. In order to do this, please, try using SDA Application Unlock software.

    I have got the same problem of VIc and others (Can’t start driver, error 2.) So, where I can find the “SDA Application Unlock Software”? I’m really interested in use your program, but I have not great success, yet. Thank you very much

    just installed on OSX 10.52 for My HTC touch. No luck. No sign of connection. No troubleshoot section in manual .. nothing to do .. better support would certainly be appreciated

    No support, no documentation, no dedicated forums…
    Many users with “Can’t start driver,error 2″
    Only cryptic answer on this blog : use SDA …. ? Which seems to be runs only on Windows :-)

    I suggest :
    0 – Open a forum dedicated to your product !!!
    1 – Give us a link to this SDA app. and a guide to use it or to use syncmate
    2 – Update syncmate so this error will not appear

    SyncMate looks like promising but did not work at all on HTC Touch Cruise.

    Is there something like a newsletter which would let me know when SyncMate will support the HTC Touch Cruise?

    Because I’m not really satisfied with PocketMac and really would like to try SyncMate.

    Hi all

    After my initial (successful) sync, transferring all my contacts and calendar items, I made the mistake of quitting the driver on my HTC tytn.

    Since then, I got the “Can’t start driver, error 2″.

    BUT WAIT. I restarted the phone (still connected to my Macbook Pro) and like magick, the driver started up successfully
