I wanted to ask if the Sync Logs I sent still does not make the TyTN II compatible with SyncMate? I am sure I sent a minimum of 3 sync logs previously. Thank you.

great program. one suggestion: i have many names in japanese on my address book (mac). any way to make it display on windows mobile 6?
i tried using syncmate back in november, and couldn't get any of the buttons to activate, so i gave up on it, and deleted. i've been waiting since then for the IT guy at work to give me a copy of another winmo/mac syncing ap. i'm glad he didn't bring it because this is the perfect tool for what i need it to do.
i downloaded the latest build yesterday (i think there was a release JUST after), and i had some initial trouble getting it to work. i tried (much too hard) futzing with it. i fixed it after i tried the following:
i opened syncmate, turned my tmo wing off, attached it to the usb, then turned the wing on. an alert to install the driver for the device popped up on my device immediately. i installed it, and the 'sync now' button was then active. i synced the computer and the phone, and they've both worked flawlessly. i entered all my upcoming appointments in ical and sent them to my phone.
great work, i'd suggest that others don't mess around with it too much, because it seemed to be pretty automatic this time 'round.

Hi, thanks for the updates. I'd like to let you know that when I installed the latest update, it seems to have ruined my SyncMate install. Logging ot and restarting hasn't worked. I'm going to reinstall and report back.

the end problems are attempting to wifi sync.

From that point on the system is asking me to setup a new ethernet adapter (the bridged created via-usb)... is it possible to suppress that message?

Twice now you people have promised free licenses for various things (submitting logs, case reports etc) and I've heard back from you people exactly zero times about said licenses or even any of the feedback I've given.

Vic, I'm in the same boat as benno. I've submitted my log 2x and 1 case study.
Ok I'm attaching a new log. I've gotten WiFi sync to work using an IP address. On WM6 Pro I went Settings->Connections Tab->WiFi->Network Adaptors->IEEE 802.11b/g... and used the IP it showed me.
Does Syncmate also sync e-mail ?

Hi thanks for the software! I have one of the first versions of the t-mobile dash. My problem right now is that Sync Mate opens up when i connnect it to the USB. BUt i get this error message when i hit the connect button.
"Error:Access denied. Please switch security configuration on your device into application unlocked mode"

You may experience this problem because of the firewall settings. Alternatively, your device may be locked by the cellular service provider. In many cases this is the problem, and no software will be able to help. It is the external problem.

Hello (HTC S710, ibook running Tiger),
I've noticed that syncmate does not seem to be aware of the amount of space on the device's storage card - even when there is no space left, Syncmate keeps on trying to push data across - there is no error message or anything.
And, as another blogger has mentioned, the text 'Syncmate Drivier' and its icon are often in the icon bar on my device. For example, when my screen in locked, I sometimes have this in the icon bar.
My biggest problem with the application is that there is no way through Tiger's firewall when syncing via USB (are you working on a way of fixing this?), and that USB syncs are very slow for large amounts of data, such as iTunes syncing.
I can't really give much more feedback now that the RC beta has expired - I hope that it has been of some help.

I got finally the license, thank you... now waiting for fix for Polish locale settings at PDA that generate awkward dates and wrong TZ on import. Hope you got all required info to fix that.

I have a Dell Axim x50 which is not listed above, though the x50v (VGA version) is listed to work. I cannot seem to get it to install the driver on my device. The first time I tried, it same up with an error saying I had a conflicting driver already installed (the Missing Sync one) and so I uninstalled it from the device and uninstalled Missing Sync from my Mac, restarted, and nothing. It shows driver on my log (I guess for my Mac) but cannot connect PocketPC... I finally can get the connect button to be available after trying reset of profiles, but sync never is and "connect" gets error (cannot connect device) when clicked. Any idea how to get it to re-install the driver to PocketPC device???
I have uninstalled SyncMate and reinstalled it again *several times* using the uninstaller package, with restarts each time, yet it never attempts to install it (the PocketPC driver) again and my original profile keeps showing back up even after I "reset" all profiles...
This software looks much more promising than the Missing Sync application (as it will only install cab files and not exe while yours *shows* it can do exe even though others have said it *will not*).
Just want to test it out before actually purchasing a license, but unfortunately, I can't get it to attempt the PPC driver install again, or seem to fully uninstall the application from my Mac to try and get another fresh install done.

Please reinstall driver on your device:
1) Remove as_starter.exe and AsyncSvr.dll files from the folder Windows on your device.
2) Reboot you device
3) Connect the it to your Mac.
If it doesn't fix the problem, then maybe Mac firewall is blocking the connection. Please, look through your Mac settings.

1) We are currently investigating the problem you reported.
2) I kindly ask you to be more specific. Please let us know What has happened before you received the “Syncmate Drivier” text and the icon in the icon bar ?
3) If you need Firewall to be turn on for all programs and services, please add backservice.app to the exception list.
System Preferences -> Security -> Firewall -> Set Access For Specific Services And Applications -> Add backservinote
4) I would recommend you to synchronize via WiFi. Please note that Synchronization via WiFi is faster then via USB cable.

Re 2), for example, if I lock my screen, then hit the left soft key to 'unlock', then hit the left soft key again to 'cancel', I have the text 'SyncMate Driver' and the syncmate icon in the icon bar permanently. It stays this way until I unlock the screen.
Re 3), as I have already mentioned in reply to a similar suggestion by Vic (http://blog.eltima.com/2008/02/syncmate-officially-released.html#comment-1486), you seem to be referring to the firewall in Leopard - I cannot add 'Backservice.app' to the 'exception list' because there isn't one in Tiger - I can only open UDP and TCP ports, etc.
Re 4), yes, Wifi's faster and it works through the firewall, but both my mac and the phone need a fixed IP address and an unsecure ad-hoc connection in order to sync, which is quite restrictive

Trying to get syncmate to work has been most frustrating. I've tried several versions of the beta and now the release version 1.1.316. I did get it to install a driver on the my WM6 device (HTC Mogul), but now with the release, when I plug in the device, it does nothing. I've done all the stuff people have suggested like turning off the firewall, reinstalling SyncMate, and I even erased everything on my phone and started over. Nothing helps. Actions log only has two lines: BackService version: 0.4.1d6 USB driver version: 0.2.3b2
This is a problem that tons of people are having and I wonder why it hasn't been solved since 1.0b? A lot of things don't make sense to me like turning off the firewall. I thought the firewall is only for network connections, not USB? Unless Eltima is sending packets home. Last post also says that sync via Wifi is faster than USB? Unless it's usb 1.1, not sure how wifi can be faster. USB 2.0 is 480mbps and 802.11g is only 56mbps
