Read the story from Steve Ruddy, Technology Paraprofessional at Antrim Elementary, who explains how SWF & FLV Player for Mac helped their school make the important presentation
industry: education
Company Information: The G.H. Antrim School in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, is embarking on a very ambitious 1 to 1 technology program. This means that every student will be issued an apple Macbook computer that they will use 24/7 to help them achieve their educational goals.
Victoria Veligodsky: Victoria Veligodsky: What challenges made you search for the software of this kind?
Steve Ruddy: We are gearing up to roll out our 1 to 1 technology program and our big kick off involves sessions with parents as well as our students. We have developed an educational presentation for the parents that will help them to understand the importance of what we are doing and how it will prepare their children to enter the modern work force. Part of this presentation is in the form of an FLV movie and we are using your software to play the piece.
Victoria Veligodsky: How did get to know about SWF & FLV Player for Mac by Eltima Software?
Steve Ruddy: By searching Google for FLV players for the Mac platform I became familiar with the SWF & FLV Player for Mac created by Eltima Software. The fact that it was endorsed on the official Apple computers site gave me confidence in its quality and reliability.
I also noticed that many of the other Google results were to different sites all highlighting the Eltima FLV player as the solution to my problem.
Victoria Veligodsky: Did you try other products for the same task before choosing Eltima solution? Why did you prefer our product?
Steve Ruddy: I tried out the other FLV player for Mac. I felt the overall your SWF & FLV Player was more polished and had a better interface than the other one. I also thought that the full set of features, especially Full Screen mode made Eltima stand out amongst the competition.
Victoria Veligodsky: Please, describe how you are using our product now.
Steve Ruddy: We are using your product to play an FLV movie in our presentation to parents as we roll out our 1 to 1 laptop program here at Antrim Elementary. The film we are showing is titled “Did You Know 2.0″ and created by Xplane, a noted information design company. The clip is very compelling and we hope that it inspires our parents to see this program as something that will prepare their children to take part in the workplace of the future.
Victoria Veligodsky: How did you benefit from using Eltima solution?
Steve Ruddy: By using the Eltima’s SWF & FLV Player to play what we feel is a very important part of our presentation we will benefit by having the source media and player right on the desktop instead of having to rely on a live Internet connection for the presentation.
This presentation must go very smoothly and when using a live Internet connection there are too many factors outside of our control that can affect playback. Using the Eltima SWF & FLV Player will guarantee that our presentation is a success.
