SyncMate 1.4 Giveaway at UsingMac
We were giving away five SyncMate Expert 1.4 licenses at UsingMac.com recently. The rules were extremely simple: all those, who wanted to get SyncMate Expert 1.4 for free had to post a comment and tell which SyncMate features they like most and why.

Below you can find some positive comments about SyncMate:
“Bookmarks… it is so very painful to have to retype out my web addresses using my SPV M3100’s “touchscreen” so the ability to sync bookmarks would save me a lot of time. I’m sure there’s an app to do it but I don’t want 10 different applications when SyncMate does it all in one!”
- Sam G
The feature I like the most is folder synchronization. …Managing files on the phone is the only really important feature the iPhone lacks. However, everybody knows how complicated Windows Mobile can turn to be. …I always dreamt of the day when my Mac stopped harasing my WM phone and they became friends. Such day has come… ;)”
- Mike
“…I’m very interested in some of smaller features in Syncmate Expert, notably: bookmarks, folder and notes synchronization, SMS manager and reader, Device info, actions log and Call History. Those small features would enable me to track my usage better, remove unnecessary steps that I currently repeat on a daily basis, and allow me to access data that I would otherwise have no way of touching without a PC. …Nice work!”
- James Lee
“…That being said, SyncMate provides the bridge fo the gap between the two turfs. It’s been quite a while since I was able to find a program that would do this, and to add to it ToDo list & iCal capabilities means that I no longer need to use my PC desktop just to be able to sync all this information via MobileMe. Now I can be completely Mac, and I LOVE IT.”
- Zachary Price
“… its good to know that even though we don’t have an iphone, some developers still care about us W-Mobile/Mac users, cause its really frustrating having this No-Sync-problem. “managing SMS right from Mac computer. Sending, receiving, creating and deleting SMS when working at Mac became possible with SyncMate Expert Edition” … that’s just plain and simply awesome! “

Thanks everyone for your feedback!
I’ve been a happy SyncMate user for a long time now, good job! But soon I’m planning to get an Android phone. So here’s a feature request: would it be possible to make Syncmate work with Android? Right now is quite hard to sync Android phones with the Mac addressbook and iCal – you can’t do it without uploading all info to Google first. Syncmate + Android would be a great solution!

Thanks a lot for your suggestion, our Developers Team will surely consider it.
i have a touch pro and would love this solution.

You can download SyncMate Free Edition here and try out its sync possibilities!
Used the trial without incident but when paid and activated the expert edition, the software crashed constantly on my MAC when trying to use the previously locked features and would not work at all. Requested a refund almost immediately but was declined without explanation. Would not recommend this software and worse, dealing with Eltima or Element5.

As can be derived from it: “We will be glad to return your investment when we are sure the product is malfunctioning (i.e. doesn’t function according to the features declared at a product’s homepage) on a client’s computer (mobile device) and we receive assistance in finding out the reason on the side of our customer.”
I would also love android phone support instead of having to sync as a usb drive. More straight forward integration would be great and many people are moving to the android OS!

Hi,
I recently upgraded to Expert version and I’m very satiesfied with it. As some others I wish to see support for Android based mobiles in the future too. I’m thinking about buying the DSTL1 from General Mobile. so it would be very sad when I had to buy another software to keep that one on sync.
Regards,
Stefan

I love Syncmate everything I needed to sync my SPV E650 with my iMac. Though I have had minor issues with this software from the firewall blocking it to the phone being unable to sync due to a strange *out of free space* error that led to the phone crashing completely, I hope that one doesn’t come back again.
Other than that its amazing! I’m tempted to upgrade to expert at some point.

Peter, concerning your problems with SyncMate – please, send us Activity Log and crash report in order we could investigate this issue. Thanks!
Hmm there is no crash report as it was the phone that crashed and required a hard restart. This is the activity log:
Device Inserted
Device platform SmartPhone
Device Version 81003013
Device OS Version 5.2
Device ModelName SPV E650
DeviceInfo
Installing driver on pocket…
No free space on device or storage is read only.
Write file/Windows/SyncMate.arm.CAB error.
Install error.
Cant connect to Pocket (Connect error)
Note the device has already synced once before and the driver was running on my phone at the time. Syncmate seemed to not see the driver and install it again. My phone has about 1GB free space so the should of been enough room if it wanted it. At this point the phone went very slow and got graphical errors and required a hard restart.
It seems to be fine now and syncs great just not sure what caused that problem.
Thanks

Peter, it is not quite clear what caused this issue at your mobile device. We have never been reported of such an issue before and SyncMate driver shouldn’t have caused it.
If this issue occurs once again, please, provide us with detailed explanation/steps (anything that will help reproduce error). Thank you.
With regards to installing SyncMate driver on your mobile device we would recommend you to install it into internal memory.
