Grand Release: SyncMate 2.0 is Finally Here!
Yes, it is! SyncMate 2.0 was in beta stage for several months and created a great buzz around itself. With your suggestions in mind we’ve been improving SyncMate Beta day by day to make it suit all your needs perfectly. Starting from today, SyncMate 2.0 is no longer beta and all of you can enjoy syncing your applications with various devices with this handy sync tool!
Since SyncMate 2.0, Windows Mobile devices are not the only ones on your synchronization list: SyncMate 2.0 allows synchronizing your Mac with another Mac, Nokia series 40, your Google account and your Online Backup Account, all at once, btw. In other words, SyncMate 2.0 enables users to build up a line of devices to be synced, making your Mac a leading link in this line.
Sync Contacts and Calendar in your Mac with other Macs, Windows Mobile devices, Nokia S40 and backup these data online absolutely for free with SyncMate Free Edition!
SyncMate Expert Edition allows synchronizing iTunes & video, iPhoto, Bookmarks, Mail, Notes, ToDo’s and other data between Mac and any of supported devices. Backup essential data online, manage text messages and install any applications to your device in a few clicks!
No need to purchase several synchronization solutions. Let SyncMate take care of all devices and accounts!
You can find detailed description of SyncMate 2.0 Sync options here.
Additionally to synchronization features improvements, we’ve designed new, neat and sleek interface for version 2.0, which, we believe, you’ll definitely like.
SyncMate is your all-in-one sync and backup tool for Mac, Windows Mobile, Nokia S40 and Google account – and it is absolutely free!
All registered users can upgrade SyncMate 1.x to 2.0 version with 50% discount by filling in this form.
We still keep working on improving SyncMate, so your comments and suggestions are more than welcome!
Hi there
I just downloaded the new syncmate, but when I try to connect my Motorola Q9h with my mac, although my mac detects my phone immediately but Syncmate’s device connection wizard is on “connecting” forever. How could I fix this? Thank you!
@ David -
Unfortunately SyncMate 2.0 is not compatible with Motorola devices. Anyway, we’re working on SyncMate 2.0 improvement every day so stay with us and our blog in order to get fresh news about SyncMate!
Hi,
While syncmate expert 2.0 has been generally smooth going so far, I’m still not quite satisfied with the itunes syncing capability.
I use kinoma play as a media player in winmo 6.1. The problem with syncmate’s attempt to get around the playlist problem is by syncing music files to a folder. Kinoma play (as does every other player) arranges my files either alphabetically or time of sync. I the only way I can view my playlist the way it is in itunes is by arranging according to time. This means that if I take away songs and replace them with new ones meant to be played in the middle of the playlist, the new ones that sync into my omnia are placed right at the back of the list.
This bugs me as I’m on the verge of using my omnia as my all-in-one device. This is a comparatively mild annoyance, seeing as Syncmate already does most of the essential stuff with finesse, but when it’s so good, you tend to hope for a little much! :)
Hi,
I have been using the Syncmate eval version ever since it was in beta, and apart from some initial silliness with my HTC Tytn II (Kaiser) it has worked reliably all this time. It’s a great application!
In fact the only reason I haven’t registered is because I didn’t expect to have the phone for quite this long! I have been planning to replace it with an iphone for a looong time, so although I’m happy with the application, I don’t know how long I’ll be using it for.
I have only 2 comments about the software. First of all synchronizing contacts and appointments doesn’t seem to check for conflicts and offer the user the option of selecting which item should be retained. It seems to copy items, which is annoying when you add information to both the Mac and the phone. I had to recently delete over 100 contacts from my phone as a result. This (and the fact that I don’t need the other features) is probably what has stopped me from purchasing a full licence. I don’t mind paying for good software for a short period of usage, but I do it it has issues like this with the few functions I really need.
Secondly, on version 2.0 I can’t sync with my Google account. My details are correct, but for some reason Syncmate seems to think otherwise. Anyone else have this problem?
Awesome!
Our team have reviewed and awarded this release of SyncMate! Enjoy!
I am eager to upgrade to 2.0, but am having an issue where I cannot get even the basic iCal and Address Book sync to work. I have previously sent an email requesting assistance with this issue, please advise!
@ MB -
We’d be happy to help you if you provided more info.
1. Please let us know you mobile device model.
2. What are your device and Mac platform versions?
3. Please specify your step-by-step actions, what exactly you do and where, so we can reproduce your actions and see where exactly the problem occurs.
4. Also, send us SyncMate Activity log for investigation
@ Schlave –
Please, let us know your ideas about how we can influence the way your playlist is arranged. We’ll be happy to consider your suggestion with our Developers Team! Thanks for your interest in SyncMate and assistance in its improvement;)
@alex.taylor:
I have a few ideas:
1. somehow update all the timestamps on the songs in the playlists, in the order that they are in the playlist. That way, I can at least arrange my playlist correctly by time.
even better:
2. sync the songs as they are now, but convert the itunes playlist to something kinoma play (or other winmo media players) can detect as a playlist, like in .asx or .m4a format or something.
After upgrading to 2.0 I get all of my events duplicated onto my phone on every sync. After one sync I have two of each, next time three of each, etc. My phone is an HTC P3600 which I connect via USB, and that worked fine with SyncMate 1.4.
To respond to the specific questions you presented to MB:
1. HTC P3600
2. Device: Windows Mobile 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Features Pack, OS 5.1.465 (Build 15673.3.3.1), Processor SC32442A-400MHz. Mac: MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB, running Mac OS X 10.5.7.
3. I just run SyncMate, connect my phone via USB, and click “Sync now”. To get rid of the duplicates I delete all events from the phone and then do a one-way sync from Mac to device.
4. Event log sent to support@eltima.com.
@ Schlave –
Thanks a lot for your ideas! We’ll surely consider them.
@ Gunnlaugur Briem –
Our Support Team will contact you as soon as possible, thanks.
@ Jim Allen –
Please describe with more details the problem you’ve encountered with Google account. Is the problem that you can’t add the account or that you can’t sync? Send us SyncMate Activitly log.
As for contacts and appointment synchronization – in iSync preferences you may configure user confirmation when changing a certain amount of items.
If you have problems when using our product we kindly ask you to provide us with detailed information about the problem and send us SyncMate activity logs.
I need to get a fresh .dmg file for syncmate 1.4 to re-load on my computer [paid-for expert edition] – how can I obtain this?
@ MB –
Our Support Team will contact you as soon as possible.
two issues: (1) recurring appointments are showing up on wrong day, example: meeting scheduled every Friday at 13:00 is showng on my ical (Mac calendar) on Thursdays.
(2) I had an expert license granted by Eltima as part of the original 1.0 beta program. This license is not valid for 2.0.

Hello!
I’m a happy user of Syncmate 1.4 (expert edition). Is it possible to download Syncmate 2 (free edition) and run both versions side to side?
Was hoping for Q support, I would love to see it in the next release
@ Trent –
Thanks for your comment, hope we’ll add Q devices support in nearest future.
@ Alan Rosenfeld –
We’d be happy to help you if you provided more info.
1. What version(build) of SyncMate do you use? What are your regional settings? Please check the time zone on Mac and on the phone and inform us as detailed as possible; please send a screenshot of synchronization settings for Contact plugin;
2. You’re probably trying to register SyncMate 2.x using registration
information for SyncMate 1.x. That is why registration information is not
accepted.
As you perhaps know we have released new major version of SyncMate – SyncMate 2.X on the 15th July, 2009. Version fixes and enhancements can be viewed here.
Actually, when you were notified about the update available, you received the following message:
“READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE UPGRADING
Upgrade to SyncMate 2.X is free if you have purchased SyncMate 1.x after June 15th, 2009. Otherwise, according to Eltima’s Upgrade Policy, upgrade to SyncMate 2.X should be purchased with the 50% discount.”
Please, let me know your Order ID (Ref#)
Hello!
I am using a ASUS P535 mobile phone with windows mobile 6.1(v5.2.21051) installed. I have just installed syncmate 2.0, its USB driver and reboot my MAC. But when I try to create a connection with the option “windows mobile USB” and then connect my phone to the USB port, the soft just hangs there with window poped up asking me to connect my phone. “Continue” button just appeared grey.
Would you please fix this problem?
It is pity that such useful soft can not run well on my MAC.
@ Maaike –
You can’t run both versions on the same Mac computer. You will need to install these version on different Macs in order to use them simultaneously. But, you won’t be able to use both versions in order to sync one mobile device. Because in that case you’ll have to uninstall/install each version on your device before synchronization.
The free version synched my iCal and contacts very nicely with my T-Mobile Shadow – thank you! My question is how do I know I will be able to play the file format of my mp3’s if I upgrade and try to sync my iTunes? Aren’t they only playable on Apple products if I ripped them on my Mac into iTunes? I just moved to Mac and this would save me from dropping more money on an iPod… the Shadow is expandable with up to a 16Gb micro SD which would do the trick for a while for portable music…

By the way I am still using free version 1.4. Don’t want to pay for an upgrade to 2 if I cannot get 1.4 to work properly.
@ Colin Cox –
I would recommend you to install the free version of SyncMate 2.x and to try its Internet sharing feature. Normally it will work automatically (just check your firewall and set it to Allow All Incoming Connections). Please note that in version 1.4 Internet Sharing plugin is not stable, it is being made available for testing purposes only.
Hi Alex,
I have installed the free version and still have the same problem, I do not have any connection to the internet. My Firewall is set to allow all incoming connection. Should there be a pop up or something to ask to connect to the internet?
Here is the log file when connecting

I was one of the beta testers for the expert edition. When the final version came out, my beta license no longer worked. I was wondering if those of us who were already testing the expert version, do to giving you enough bug information to receive it, would be given a license that will continue to work?
@ Andy –
Andy, we highly appreciate your assistance in testing SyncMate 2.0 beta and would be happy to send you free license. Please, send us know your order ID (if you had SyncMate 1.4 Expert) at support@eltima.com and we’ll send you registration code in reply.
@ Colin Cox –
To get the Internet connection on your mobile device first establish connection with SyncMate: your mobile device should appear in connection Toolbar, make sure that it is not offline. Also check your mobile device browser settings, in connection setting select “My internet” and Apply. You may need to reconnect your mobile device and to try the Internet connection again.
does the android platform HTC magic sync to it?
@ aamod –
In fact you can sync Contacts and Calendars at your HTC Magic and Mac (and other supported devices) with SyncMate. As you probably know, SyncMate allows syncing your Mac with your Google account, so, if you can sync your Contacts and Calendar in HTC Magic to Google account, you can easily then sync these between Google account and Mac (and vice versa).
Of course, this is not the most convenient way of synchronization, but if you already have SyncMate Expert version installed this is the solution. Anyway, we’re working on this item and will do our best in order to add Android support as soon as possible! Stay with our blog or follow us on twitter (EltimaSoftware) in order to get fresh news!
@alex taylor,
please work it out!
my htc magic is kind of useless with my mac….
thx

@ christian –
Please specify your request.
We’d be happy to help you if you provided more info about the problem you’ve encountered when using our product. What is your mobile device and Mac platform versions? Describe the exact sequence of your actions and which response you receive from SyncMate starting from the moment you have downloaded it to your Mac. Also, send us SyncMate Activity log for investigation.
@ Alex- I have tried your suggestion regarding disconnecting & reconnecting. My Omnia still will not connect to the Internet. I have installed Windows on my iMac and can connect to the internet that way. I really didn’t want to use windows, but unfortunately I cannot get your software to work. Thanks for your help.
@ Colin Cox -
Please try to change communication channels in browser settings. Don’t choose GPRS or MMS Network.
@ Alex Taylor,
Have tried all connections on the browser and none work. I am at a point where I will just use windows to do anything I need with the Internet and just use Syncmate to sync with my Macs. Thanks for your attempts to help.
I have just installed Syncmate and am a first time user. Everything works well between my Mac and HTC phone. Except that I get regularly a dialog box with the SyncMate logo and the text:
msgj2 (in bold text)
msgj3 (normal text on next line)
and two buttons with msgno and msgyes.
What is this? The SyncMate program is even not open.
Can I stop it from popping up?
@ Christophe -
Most probably this is a reminder about synchronization.
This window should contain the message like this: “Hey! It’s time to sync
SyncMate noticed that you haven’t synced your devices for quite a long time. Keeping them up-to-date will help you be more efficient every day.”
Don’t you you see this text appearing?
You may disable the reminder in SyncMate preferences.
Will SyncMate been upgraded to work with Snow Leopard?
After deleting Syncmate I still get the above mentioned popup. So there is no way to disable the function in preferences.
And to answer your question to Christophe in my screen there is nothing else i can read besides the msgyes and msgno.
I had to do a search through google before I even knew which program was responsible for this popup.
I tried your program to sync the Nokia N97 but it didn’t work so that’s why I deleted it (or at least I thought I did. How do I solve this problem?
Hello!
I’m very excited to the get the app running it looks beautiful, but I hate to be the bearer of bad (and repetitious) news. I have downloaded the 2.0.0.819 ver, and while my phone does indeed have a password, SyncMate will not accept it. It is a simple numerical PIN type code, but SM just rejects it. The connection initiates beautifully… just the password issue. Any help would be appreciated!
My Phone is:
T-mobile MDA with Win Mobile 5
My OS is:
10.5.8
@ Nathalie -
You may disable this popup in SyncMate preferences or by uninstalling SyncMate using “Uninstall” utility.
Please check this article on how to uninstall SyncMate properly: http://wiki.eltima.com/knowledge-base/syncmate/uninstall-syncmate.html
As for the compatibility with your Nokia N97 Symbian OS based device, we plan to implement this OS support in one of the future releases of SyncMate.
By the way,we recommend you subscribe to our Products Update notifications at the left bottom of any product’s page at http://www.eltima.com/software-updates/. This will enable you to select the product which is of interest to you and receive emails whenever the new build/version is released.
@ Michelle –
Please make sure you type you password correctly. Check your keyboard layout and case. Send us SyncMate Activity log during connection.
Hi Alex,
I’ve tried typing it with the number keypad and with the number bar, neither work. I’ve tried it with and without caps-lock on but as we are dealing with numbers here, I don’t think that’s the issue. Also, when I type into a text document, the the correct numbers are mapped to the keys, so keyboard layout seems unlikely unless there is a keyboard layout setting in SM that I can’t find.

The problem you’ve described is already fixed in the new SyncMate build which will be available soon. At the current stage we kindly ask you to disable password protection. You may also enter the right password and if the error happens just relaunch SyncMate.

We are aware of the problem with “internet sharing” and we are currently working on fixing it.
If your device platform is Windows Mobile 5 you can do the following: go to Internet connection settings, you will see 2 options “Working” and “Internet”, check “Internet”.
