SWF & FLV Toolbox

We’ve been waiting for this release for a long time! So please, welcome SWF & FLV Toolbox 4.0: new interface, new options and new possibilities!

So, let us tell you what new features this new version brings to you. First of all, we’ve greatly enhanced performance for each conversion type, so now converting Adobe Flash (SWF) and Flash Video (FLV) files into popular graphic and video formats is a piece of cake. And with brand new, more comprehensive and user-friendly interface this process is not only easy, but eye pleasing as well. As soon as you add your original file to SWF & FLV Toolbox all you need to do is choose the type of the output and press “Convert”, next thing you have is your conversion result. Of course whenever you want to individualize some conversion settings you can do it by just unfolding the settings panel.

We’ve also added the possibility to crop and resize images and videos in order to perform conversion of specific areas only or to receive output of different scale. Updated version of SWF & FLV Toolbox allows you to choose an audio codec for the resulting file when converting SWF/FLV/EXE files to video and offers you the option of resizing the output when converting FLV to SWF with movie controls.

When converting FLV to SWF with SWF & FLV Toolbox 4 you can easily recode FLV if the codec it uses is not supported by SWF specifications.

Among other new features added are the following ones: possibility to convert FLV files with AVC/H.264 video codec and interactive type of conversion of SWF/EXE files into images.

And as soon as the conversion is over, your computer can be automatically shut down if such option is chosen in SWF & FLV Toolbox 4 settings.

4 of 5 from Layers – Well Done Flash Decompiler!

Posted by Alex Taylor on February 18th, 2010

If you are interested in Adobe, Photoshop or Flash, I bet, you have definitely heard of Layers Magazine. Layers is a well known “How-to Magazine for Everything Adobe” which covers the most interesting Adobe and Flash stuff. January/February Layers issue brings you as usual lots of interesting reviews and articles along with the Flash Decompiler Trillix 4 for Mac review.

Flash Decompiler in Layers

Cyndy Cashman, the editor of the Layers, has kindly agreed to test Flash Decompiler for Mac. Several quotes from her review are highlighted below.

“Flash Decompiler Trillix v4 by Eltima is an inexpensive tool for converting SWF files into editable Flash files or extracting elements such as images, sounds, videos, and fonts. Additionally, Flash Decompiler converts SWF files created in Flex back to their source code.”

It’s a tool that can save you significant time if you ever need to edit a SWF file and you no longer have the original Flash document

“When you open a SWF in Decompiler you can start, stop, and scrub through the animation. Context panels allow you to examine each frame’s content and provide detailed information of all of the elements within the SWF.”

“Decompiler does a good job converting SWF files containing animation and basic ActionScript. Usually, you need to do very little tweaking to replicate the original movie. Conversion is surprisingly quick.”

Converting a SWF file to a Flash document or extracting elements is as simple as clicking the correspondent button

“This latest release is available for both Mac and Windows. Windows users are able to make minor edits to Flash objects, such as images, texts, hyperlinks, sounds, colors, and lines within Decompiler. Mac users must first convert the SWF into a Flash file to edit the objects. The Windows version also includes plug-ins for Internet Explorer and Firefox that allow you to capture SWF movies from the Internet.”

SyncMate Gets 5 Star Rate from Macworld. UK!

Posted by Alex Taylor on February 9th, 2010

Macworld Stars

If SyncMate was a hotel, these 5 stars would mean that it is the best! Though SyncMate is a sync tool – the meaning of the stars stays the same :)

SyncMate was recently tested by Karl Hodge from Macwolrd.UK and was given the Macworld Editors’ Choice award.

SyncMate has grown from a one-trick application to a device synchronization toolbox

Interesting, that Karl tested SyncMate about a year ago when it was 1.4 and supported Windows Mobile synchronization only.

“Version 2 has expanded the range of platforms supported by the program. Our last review noted that SyncMate 1.4 enables you to access data on Windows Mobile devices, directly from your Mac. You can synchronize between Mac and Windows Mobile, or transfer data one way. The range of data types supported is particularly notable, with audio, images, SMS, contacts and bookmarks all syncable.”

The cream on the apple pie is support for Windows synchronization.

“But there’s more. While the last version was a relatively simple tool for synchronizing between Mac and Windows Mobile, SyncMate 2 has significantly expanded its repertoire. Support for Nokia series 40 phones, other Macs, and Google have all been added. With google support, you can synchronize iCal with Google Calendar and your Mac’s Address Book with Gmail’s Contacts. The cream on the apple pie is support for Windows synchronization”
