SyncMate Tips. Issue #5. How to mount any storages of your Android on Mac

Have you ever wanted to have access to all storages of your Android device on Mac? You can do this with SyncMate 4 Expert. Keep on reading to find out how.
In previous versions of SyncMate Android users had to choose “Android device” in SyncMate wizard when connecting their Android devices to a Mac via SyncMate. In such case when they mounted their Android as a Mac disk (”Mount disk” plugin), they could browse content of internal memory only or SD card only (only one storage was mounted, depending which one is located in /mnt/sdcard).
Starting from version 4 SyncMate adds one more connection – MTP devices. If you connect your Android as MTP device (just pick this connection in SyncMate wizard and connect your Android via USB) and choose “Mount disk” plugin, SyncMate will mount and show you ALL storages your Android device has – not only internal memory or SD Card (both at the same time), but also any other storages connected to your device. Voila!
Hope this tip was helpful, keep on syncing!
Note. “Mount disk” feature is offered with Expert edition only.
I am using Syncmate 4 with my Galaxy Note 2.
I am trying to sync my itunes playlist to the external SD card. However, the destination only displays the internal.
I have tried mounting MTP Device but it keeps telling me to “Connect USB device to this Mac”
Am I missing anything here?
Cheers Buddy
@ Peter Tao –
Let me inform you that we have recently created a new software build where we have included an ability to detect the SD card for simple Android connection. I would kindly ask you to test the new SyncMate build.
Please, do the following:
- Download SyncMate 4.0.1860 using the link below:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35834399/SyncMate_4.0.1860.zip
- Install SyncMate 4.0.1860 on your Mac.
- Re-create a connection via SyncMate connection wizard.
- In “Connection settings” plugin under “More options” area tick the check-box next to “Allow access to root folder on device”.
- Try to sync.
And let us know if you still encounter any difficulties.
Hi Alex
can you re upload the above link please? Having the same trouble and that link seems to be dead.
Cheers in advance
Damon
Hi, Damo!
We have recently released the new version of SyncMate with the ability to detect the SD card for simple Android connection. So just download it from our site.
Hello.
I am trying to Sync an iTunes music playlist to the internal storage of my ‘phone, and a video playlist to the SD card of my ‘phone.
I can select the destination for my music folder without problems, but the SD card (sdcard1) is greyed out in the destination folder selection. I have tried selecting the ‘Root Access’ option which allows me to see the sdcard1 folder, but I can’t select it for syncing.
Am I doing something wrong here?
Hello, Mark!
What version are you using currently? Also please, send the screenshot which shows greyed out SD card to our support team (support@eltima.com).
