Alex Taylor: What challenges made you search for the software of this kind?

Andrew W. Zehner: One of the services we provide is for those unlucky web masters or site owners that had the unfortunate experience of a local system crash. Loosing everything is bad enough but then realizing you cannot edit your flash banners, animations, or buttons later on soon tops the scale of disaster evils when one realizes the price tag of having a professional recreate the once easy to edit material. I used to provide those heavy numbers to potential clients which were usually followed by a heavy sigh on the other end of the phone. There HAD to be something better! That’s where Eltima’s fine program comes in. With Flash Decompiler Trillix, time gets cut in half and likewise that heavy sigh transforms into a sigh of relief. How it works is simple, by retrieving the files from the internet servers and decompiling them, we can then get a file that can be saved and edited like normal. Andrew W. Zehner: There were several other programs that claimed the same type of results but no proof, no trials, and plenty of negative reviews to steer me away.

Flash & Flex Developer’s Magazine is one of the most authoritative magazines for Flash and Flex developers and other readers, who are interested in Flash & Flex technologies. Gabor Csomak, the FFDMag editor, has kindly agreed to test Flash Optimizer for Windows by Eltima Software. His detailed review describes all features, Flash Optimizer offers. Below are some quotes from his review.

“First I was skeptical when I saw the Flash Optimizer advertisement. Can a SWF be a half the size without quality loss?“, – says Gabor Csomak.

“The program is available for both Mac and Windows and I have to say that the look and feel is correct for both platforms.” says Gabor.

“The compression is fast, usually it takes about 15 seconds.”

Summarizing his impressions of Flash Optimizer testing, Gabor says: “Flash Optimizer is the only program that supports Flash Player 9 and 10, Zlib compression and all the Action Script formats. It does not need the FLA file and it saves the optimized file next to the original one. The compression is fast, usually it takes about 15 seconds, which is very nice.”
