“Flash Optimizer 2: The only SWF compressor”

Posted by Alex Taylor on October 16th, 2009

Flash & Flex Developer’s Magazine is one of the most authoritative magazines for Flash and Flex developers and other readers, who are interested in Flash & Flex technologies. And of course, as Flash software developers, we are flattered to be a part of this magazine. Actually, to be a double-page spread part of this magazine :)

Flash Optimizer by Eltima

Gabor Csomak, the FFDMag editor, has kindly agreed to test Flash Optimizer for Windows by Eltima Software. His detailed review describes all features, Flash Optimizer offers. Below are some quotes from his review.

“First I was skeptical when I saw the Flash Optimizer advertisement. Can a SWF be a half the size without quality loss?“, – says Gabor Csomak.

“It is an excellent tool, a “must-have” for a Flash developer.”

“I think the real strength of the program is in banners and FlashLite: both banners and FlashLite movies have to be small and fast. Flash Optimizer does the trick. If you work with a banner and your SWF’s a bit larger than the space you have, you can compress it easily to the correct size without much loss of quality. If most of your work is banner creation, then you need Flash Optimizer.

Gabor has definitely liked the simplicity and flexibility of compression settings: “If you want to decompress only the sounds in your file you will only select the sound compression and set its properties (such as bit rate, frequency, etc.). Flash Optimizer will do just that and leave the other parts untouched. You have lots of freedom to play with your SWF’s file compression to find the best quality/size rate.

“The program is available for both Mac and Windows and I have to say that the look and feel is correct for both platforms.” says Gabor.

“The compression is fast, usually it takes about 15 seconds.”

Summarizing his impressions of Flash Optimizer testing, Gabor says: “Flash Optimizer is the only program that supports Flash Player 9 and 10, Zlib compression and all the Action Script formats. It does not need the FLA file and it saves the optimized file next to the original one. The compression is fast, usually it takes about 15 seconds, which is very nice.”

If you’re an editor of any software related magazine or running software related website, you’re more than welcome to review our products. Just contact me for getting review copies of our software. And thanks Gabor Csomak for testing our software and good words about Flash Optimizer! :)

Australian Macworld gives SyncMate 4.5 mice rating!

Posted by Alex Taylor on October 9th, 2009

“Our Experience of SyncMate Free is that it’s a reliable application that does what is designed to do with a minimum of fuss.”

I can say for sure, that to be reviewed in Macworld (or any other well-known and authoritative magazine) is a great honor for any software company. We are not an exception and we are extremely proud to share SyncMate review posted recently in Australian Macworld with you.

Syncmate in Macworld

The author, Anthony Caruana, says: “we ran the installer with no problems. … One feature that stood out was the ability to natively synchronize with Google’s online address book and calendar services. SyncMate Free promises much of what The Missing Sync offers but at no cost”.

“Device support is broad” , says Anthony, “for users that need more than iCal and Address Book syncing, the Expert version adds a stack of extra options including iPhoto, iTunes, Notes, Call History, Mail and several other options”.

More than that, SyncMate was named “easy to use and reliable” and, as I said before, got 4.5 mice!

” The paid upgrade to the Expert version looks to be good value and offers all the sync options we can think of.”

If you’re an editor of any software related magazine or running software related website, you’re more than welcome to review our products. Just contact me for getting review copies of our software. And thanks Anthony Caruana for testing our software and good words about SyncMate! :)

New SyncMate 2.4 lets you synchronize your Mac with Windows PC, Sony PlayStation® Portable (PSP) and USB flash drives, as well as with other supported devices (Windows Mobile devices, Nokia phones, other Macs, online storage and Google account).

With SyncMate 2.4 your Contacts, Calendars, ToDo’s, Entourage and Mail notes, Stickies and Folders in Windows PC will be flawlessly synchronized with your Mac! (Learn how you can sync your Mac to Windows PC with SyncMate).

Synchronization with PSP lets you transfer and update Address Book contacts, iTunes and iPhoto in your handheld game console in accordance with your Mac.

SyncMate 2.4 allows syncing music, images and even separate folders between your Mac and USB flash drives. And of course you can backup your USB drive data to your Mac.

As you can see, we’ve expanded the list of supported devices greatly and now SyncMate can sync your Mac with almost every device you might have. Flash’in’App 2.5: New Build to Try!

Posted by Alex Taylor on September 30th, 2009

Flash'in'App

And one more release from Eltima :) This time, it’s a new version of Flash’in’App – version 2.5!

For those who doesn’t know, Flash’in’App is a Cocoa framework developed by our team for managing Adobe® Flash movies in any Mac OS X application. Flash’in’App significantly simplifies the process of implementing Flash Player component into your application.

In order to make this process not only as easy as a piece of cake, but offer you additional options as well, we’ve enriched Flash’in’App 2.5 with new features.

The new version offers new possibilities such as Real Video support, experimental SilverLight support, possibility to read SWF background color. With Flash’in’App 2.5 all users can easily adjust sound volume (this feature was one of the most often requested by our users).

Moreover, starting from Flash’in’App 2.5, file version, frame size and background color are automatically read when loading SWF file into ESFlashView.

We’ve also improved communication with player and fixed minor bugs.
